DO NOT I repeat DO NOT rent any type of room for any amount of time at Extended Stay in Cookeville, TN. It has been taken over by “new management”, but they will screw you out of your money and act like they did nothing wrong. My husband and I rented a room there for a week for the amount of 365.15 + $100.00. When we got there to pay for the room the man behind the desk read everything off just like the amount above says and then tried to charge a pet fee AFTER we told him that our dog was a service dog. He gave me an email to send service proof to and he said he received them and then the next day it said there was a failure in sending the email. When we went to go pay for another week of 365.15 we were told the actual price was 465.15 and we paid a 100.00 cash deposit when we actually paid 365.15 +100.00 off our debit card. We knew right then we were checking out and checking into somewhere else. So we found another room even with a kitchenette for a better price. Check out at the other hotel is 11am and we were paid up until Saturday 1-6-24 and we checked out before 10am today (1-5-24). They’re now telling me they can’t refund today and Saturday nor am I due a deposit because it wasn’t taken at the time of check in. The man I talked to told me to come back and talk to the manager because they would be the one to make a decision on paying me back. I get there to speak with the manager at 5:45pm and the girl that 1. Put us in the wrong room at check in and 2. Said we paid the deposit in cash was behind the desk and said the man I actually talked to today WAS INFACT the manager that would’ve taken care of the charges today. So not only was our money taken from us but I was also lied to in order to not have to deal with me on getting our money back. They will mess you over I promise you that. We are also turning them in to the BBB as well and letting them know how they’re messing over...
Read moreMy husband and I just recently stayed here.... First off, Mr. A ( I can't pronounce his first name 😊) at the front desk, was EXTREMELY Polite and Very accommodating to our needs! He works there 24/7 and he stayed so busy, but he still took the time to answer any questions of ours and made us feel at home. He made the entire experience there welcoming and enjoyable! The rooms are clean and neat. The housekeeper was polite and fast. We absolutely loved that so many stores and restaurants were so close and within walking distance from the hotel. The parking lot is well lit at night. Coke machines and laundry are on the premises. The rooms are large with private bathrooms. I loved the dressers since the were big with a lot of room. Full size refrigerator, microwave, full kitchen sink with cabinets beneath. Some rooms also have cook tops in them. P.S. I have worked in many hotels (Front desk, Laundry, Housekeeping, etc....) that were very fancy, some fair, and even Bed and Breakfasts. I have came to learn that no hotel is perfect. Even at high end hotels you will still have people complain about nearly everything, or workers who do not put their all in. People can destroy the nicest of rooms which make it hard on the owners and managers. The difference at this hotel is that the people who work here, actually truly care. It may not be fancy, but to us, the caring nature of the employees made all of the difference. It is very hard to run any hotel. Although Mr. A stayed extremely busy, he made us feel at home. No fake smiles. Just a genuinely good person all around. I am giving this hotel a 5 Star Rating and hopefully will be staying there again in the...
Read moreWhat a bleeping DUMP. Human "material" on the walls/doors (every bodily fluid you can think of). ROACHES THROUGHOUT THE ROOM - found their nest in the wall with the outlet the fridge was plugged into. Got up in the middle of the night to toilet and there was one headed for my son's head on his pillow. This was "joe's apartment" but not funny or cute. I personally felt the room had a light scent of dog urine in addition to that. The extra blanket we asked for and received had multiple holes in it and should have been donated to the local animal shelter for the homeless pets to lay on. We borrowed a bottle of disinfectant from the staff and wiped down the walls and floors, wiped up the roach shavings on the floor, sprayed their home in the outlet, bought our own disinfectant wipes, and when we complained to the front desk staff they said we should have told them right away and we could have changed rooms. Listen, if your one room is a neglected dump, they're all going to be that way. I arrived later in the day with my hubs and 3 kids and we were exhausted. We didn't have any other options as they'd already run my card and I didn't have time to wait 3 business days for a refund. I was in town to help my dad after the death of his wife. I WOULD say the only good thing about this place was it's cheap, but it was $181 after taxes for two nights! Complete sheet-hole. Sleeping in the car would have been better if it had not...
