GI Depot — Local services in Cookeville

I bought a pair of black tactical boots from here, and after two months they feel apart. I contacted the company first about the problem and was told I would have to take it up with the place that I got them. So the other day I went in to try to exchange them but was told that if I didn't have a receipt then they couldn't help me. I think this is pretty crappy, but then again this particular guy that was working is a moron. Which brings me to the service the two older gentlemen that work there are good with customers but the younger guy thinks he knows everything about everything, he is always on his computer and acts like it is a big inconvenience if you ask him a question. On top of that he has a very condescending tone to him. But back to the boot thing. It's not like I wanted a refund, I wanted to exchange them for another pair of the exact same thing. I had forgotten to write a review until now, but each time I come to this surplus store is just another pleasant experience waiting to happen. The guy who runs the sales desk is a good fellow, always willing to help a customer (especially the items up on the shelves, you HAVE to ask!). Their selection of OLD original items is okay, a little small but from what I understand all the good stuff up on top of the shelves and the wall may be from the owner's personal collection, so that's why. They carry knives and plate carriers and stuff like that. Very good shop, would recommend anyone I know to drop in if they have some money burning a hole in their pocket for sure. Was in town for training and decided to stop in to check out the store. I've been to several Army surplus stores over the years and this place is over priced and I wasn't that impressed with their selection compared to other surplus stores I've been too. Ended up buying a small IFAK pouch for $15. I should have checked out the pouch better before buying bc I didn't realize until after I'd left it wasn't really going to work for my application due to the design of the pouch.
