Outdoor Experience — Local services in Cookeville

I see some people saying that their products are “overpriced”. I can see where it may look that way to someone who is looking for everyday clothing and shoes. But, these items are made for heavy duty outdoor use, sometimes activity-specific. I bought a pair of Chacos 3 years ago for my child and with the adjustable straps and almost indestructible footbed, she is still wearing them again this year! That breaks down to less than $15 per year of use. I think they have a great selection of items for those of us who see their items as more of an investment than a fashion statement. The staff have always been friendly and helpful and happy to order items, if necessary. I would much rather support local business with ethical products than big chain stores any day. This is my favorite store in Cookeville. Bikes in the basement and kayaks in the attic (2nd floor but attic sounded better). A wide range of outdoor products, Jackson Kayaks for paddling, Trek bikes for peddling and Chacos for your local wandering. Friendly staff always willing to take the time to assist with expert advice. Store covers your needs from water to trails with some climbing and camping tossed in for good measure. Great selection and friendly staff when we first shopped here. After using something that I purchased though, I tried to bring it back to exchange for a larger size less than 24 hours later (with receipt) and they wouldn't exchange it.
