CHECK THEIR MATH!!!
I'm sorely disappointed in what I saw from Moogie's BBQ yesterday. I placed a Super Bowl order - called twice to verify - and then I get there and find they're attempting to charge me $50 and change for an order of 50 wings ... which actually costs $34 plus tax. I asked for a receipt and was handed a piece of paper that had "Wings $50" handwritten - nothing further. In addition to this ... they gave me ranch for all 50 wings when I'd clearly stated that I wanted plenty of Blu Cheese. Immediately, I called back after leaving (since it was 20 minutes before closing) ... I asked the tax rate and the price per 50 wings ... the lady immediately, and suspiciously, asked if she had just overcharged me. I stated that she had in fact overcharged me and that it's happened more than once ... I let them know it was very displeasing. When I arrived back at Moogie's I got into a little bit of a word exchange with the older lady there ... she said the car in front of my had ordered 60 wings and they mischarged due to that: I find this to be a ridiculous fib and highly unbelievable since my 50 wings came in a metal catering pan and the car in front of me had only 3 containers in a plastic bag which were handled easily with one hand by the driver (60 wings my butt). To top it off - the Moogie's people seemed to have a rapport with the customer since they chatted very freely about the game. When I stated that this had happened before and asked what kind of receipt doesn't list a base cost or tax deductions ... the same old lady once again tried to question my understanding of their business ethics and ended by saying "Just Go Somewhere Else."
BOTTOM LINE: I'm not sure that Moogie's pays their taxes or, if they do, whether they report the full amount. It's hard to enjoy a restaurant that feels like the crooked element of society. I've seen enough to boycott them for some time, which sucks b/c they really do have good wings. I'm contacting the appropriate chain of command and can only hope for a full tax audit to hit Moogie's. If they want to charge people an extra little money to see if they can do it, while not stating taxes on a receipt - that's fine. If they're not paying taxes or the full amount ... that's highly illegal. IF I ever decide to go back ... I will pay cash (don't trust my card info with them anymore) and will make sure to check their math in front...
Read moreThough Moogies continues to have no dine-in due to COVID-19, we ate under their gazebo and enjoyed a really good lunch special that included a large, well stacked, BBQ sandwich, fries, and a drink for $7.95 (with free refills for the drinks if you are willing to walk up to the drive thru window to get them). We also had the hot smoked wings, and as usual, they were really good as well (though a little pricey it seems to me). The service was about as fast as it can be (for drive thru only) and the people were kind. If you want some good BBQ or smoked wings, I...
Read moreGreat food, always love eating here. But rude service. We had a larger order and they were dead when we pulled in. She would roll her eyes and say she’s the only one working and kept asking if that was it after every thing when there was someone else working. Asking what company we were ordering for, which I don’t see why that matters. At one point she even said “this is a lot for a drive thru” when we’ve come through before and it’s never been a problem. Definitely unprofessional and we kept apologizing but she was just extremely rude from the get go before we...
