Prices on retail items are good.
However when trading in, I brought in Pokemon and One Piece graded cards to offer them for either a cash out or a trade for product. The male staff member seemed to be very fair, we agreed on comps (which were on the lower side but thats ok) and he seemed understanding of the process. He said he would need to verify with a superior.
A younger woman came in and reviewed our work. She then went on to belittle him and treat him in an extremely inappropriate manner especially in front of a customer. Outside of calling him a complete idiot she definitely showed it with her body language and tone. I have witnessed her acting this way with a customer that was trying to sell them a comic collection prior to my direct interaction Once we showed our work that was showing the comps were correct. She then proceeded to offer me 40% of the comps and continued on to talk down about my items which were already graded at the highest level by the most reputable company in the industry (PSA). She said even at 40% of comps its a huge risk for them. I explained to her that I am not brand new to this process and 40% is an incredibly low offer and that I would pass, she then once again told me that my items were not that great and I probably won't find a better price anywhere else. I told her that person to person, 80% is standard and that when selling to shops 60-70% is standard 30% markup etc (on top of the fact that we used the lower comps to begin with). The items had clear comps and were already graded and ready for retail display, 70% is my lowest and that's doing them a favor quite honestly considering we used the lowest comps to be safe. I declined again and let her know I would just keep them. She was holding my cards in her hand while scrolling through our work. I had to mention that I was declining the offer multiple times, I mentioned easily 4-5 times that I was declining before she eventually set my cards down for me to snatch up.
This young lady was not impressive to me in the least bit. She seems like a person that knows about the culture and has maybe had some slight leadership work in retail but being a lead or in charge in this capacity has left me taste in my mouth very sour on the store all together. I won't be visiting there again if...
Read moreI highly recommend this place!
Nerdinout has lots of really cool stuff, and the prices are pretty good. The staff on duty there was very friendly, and she was knowledgeable about what she was selling. I went in there mostly to check out what they had for MTG cards and pick up a couple of things, and then my friend and I ended up spending an additional $50ish bucks each. So be warned! You'll more than likely spend more than you intended to because of all the cool stuff they have! Lol
I will definitely be back and make this a regular place to check in on and pick up some...
Read moreJosh was so friendly and personable, and the store is INCREDIBLE. clean, well-lit, dusted, and ORGANIZED. there are other places you can go that maybe are more well known or have more stock, but if you want a true experience where you can really let your nerd flag fly proudly, you want to visit NERDINOUT. They have other stores around the metro too! I can't wait to check out the one in Inver Grove. 💜 Thanks Josh and...
