Torrid — Local services in Coon Rapids

Normally Torrid is my go to place but since the pandemic they have suffered. Usually I would not write a review under these circumstances however many other shops are providing great customer service even if shipping is slow. Torrid shipping is so slow I’m never sure if I will get my products so I decided to head into the store. My mother had just died and I was looking for something to wear to the funeral. I waited outside for 40 minutes which I understand because of Covid, however there were 6 employees in the store and only 5 or 6 customers allowed in at a time. How about send some employees home or to the back room so more people could shop? Once inside the store I thought I would be greeted and asked if I need help right away. Usually this is the case, not this day! The employees weren’t helping anyone (except register), they were all stocking tables, full tables. I went up to one to ask for a specific product and she had an attitude like she was too busy to help me. She asked me in a rude manner “do you have a picture?!) then showed me a total different top! I had explained to her that my mother had just died and that I was looking for something to wear and she said “unless you want to wear a dress I can’t help you! Look around we have plenty of black tops!” I was shocked by this treatment especially considering I was 100% polite! Just as I was deciding to just leave the store and not buy anything I heard another employee tell her that the next people was a women in a wheel chair and her mother and could they both come in together. I had stood in line with them, the daughter was completely dependent on the mother to push her and help her communicate. The rude employee I dealt with said no, if they want to come in together they need to wait and let someone else go ahead of them because they could only allow one more person in! I was so disgusted with this that I said “I’ll leave so they can shop together!” And then I walked out! I have not been back and I’m seriously considering never going back! I went into Torrid today to pick up a shirt I had ordered online. I was immediately assisted and collected my order. This hasn’t been the first time I’ve been to this store. Torrid in general has been an amazing shopping experience for me every time. I’m not a twig of a lady. I’ve got some curves. This store in general is so flattering to ladies with curves. I spoke with a lady today who noticed my top (all of my clothes are torrid now) and I immediately replied it was from torrid. She then chimed in she purchased a pair of jeggings from there and was in awe over the perfect fit. The store has something for everyone! You can find lingerie, shoes, skirts, leggings, jeans, blouses, dresses, tanks, and so much more. Clothing from that store has been so flattering and great for me that it’s now my go to store for clothing. They almost always have some sort of sale going on which legitimately makes it more worth it. The quality of clothing is really good too. But, if you do notice a frayed string or something, you can let them know and likely get a discount on it. They’re really good for customer service. Everything comes down to matter of personal opinion. Now that I’ve found the store that fits my modern younger woman style and is flattering to my body type, I will not ever go back. There’s the common saying if it’s not broken don’t fix it right? Well, if you find a store that you love, great service, quality, and flattering clothes, don’t change it. I came in on a whim looking for a bra as a treat yourself kind of day not looking for anything in particular. I grabbed a few bras and Megan, who I believe is the store manager, offered her help. She provided me with a wide range of options. I was losing a little hope as nothing fit in the moment. Megan offered to adjust me so I thought why not I wasn’t getting anywhere on my own. Turns out I knew my size I just wasn’t wearing my bras right. Megan adjusted it to perfectly fit with my body, it didn’t pinch and I even felt my back sigh in relief. For as long as I can remember I have hated my chest area and couldn’t stand or bother to try and find a nice pretty bra. Megan made me feel really great and beautiful on the outside that I embarrassingly enough started crying in the store because of her absolute selfless kindness and care and it really has just touched my heart and made me felt seen.
