My actual experience was at Dyan's restaurant. I went there for breakfast and it was crowded, so things were running a bit slow. I understand that. However, waiting 20 minutes just to try and hail a waitress is absolutely ridiculous. My meal was delivered cold because of the delay and I couldn't get anything like extra napkins, a refill on my water, anything. When I tried to discuss this with the owner, she quite literally told me she didn't want to hear it, that she had people out with the flu and they were doing the best they can. Well, that's as may be, but the instant a restaurant or other business owner tells me they don't want to hear a customer complaint, that is the last time that they will ever see my face. One of the first rules in this business, being the service business, is that you always, always listen to customer complaints. Even if you can't do something about it, you listen. When you break this rule with me, that is the last time you will see one cent of my money or my smiling face at your establishment. I'm sure that if this attitude continues, fairly shortly I'll be driving by there and see a closed sign...
Read moreI’ve been coming to the Publix on Riverside for a long time, and it used to be my go-to store. Unfortunately, things seem to be changing, especially on the front end. The customer service has noticeably declined — cashiers are no longer as friendly or welcoming, and the overall atmosphere feels tense.
One cashier in particular, a very heavyset male, appeared aggravated and uninterested in helping customers. He didn’t greet anyone, looked visibly annoyed to be working, and seemed like he could barely stand — let alone offer quality service. It felt like he just didn’t want to be there. Oddly enough, the bagger working with him was far more professional and welcoming, which really stood out.
I don’t know if this shift is due to a management change, but the standard of service has definitely slipped. For now, I’ll be taking a break from shopping at this location to see if things improve. I truly hope Publix brings back the high level of service that used to make this...
