So I’ve really come to like this place because my roommate showed it to me and we just started to get tacos almost all the time especially during COVID times (the whole shut down time/era).
However, it’s starting to become a hit or miss with the food (95% of the time we only get tacos) but it’s really sad because we don’t look forward to it as much. Sometimes our carne asada is just weird or too chewy or too much fat.
Today I ordered tacos and wanted only cilantro on them and lemon on the side. My taco as had no cilantro. Which made me super sad because that’s one of the tastes I love in tacos. In addition my lemon wedges were bad. Barely had any juice and THEY WERE COMPLETELY BROWN AND WEIRD/NASTY LOOKING :( I ended up taking a super late lunch today. My manager was getting Tijuana Flats but I used to love this place’s tacos so much that I decided I would go here. It was upsetting that I was missing key ingredients to what I consider delicious tacos.
I really hope this doesn’t happen again for whenever I come back. We never said anything before because we figured it’s more work to go back to get it fixed or they were already closed because we usually ordered 30-45 minutes before their closing time. The majority has been good. But, today just did it for me because I really wanted some good tacos and I was starving and I didn’t have time to call and come back because I was on my...

Read moreA small place that packs in a lot of love.
In the world of tex mex family owned restaurants, competition is fierce and brutal. There are the beast of the game, chain restaurants who only see a bottom line, places that have made the dish so many times they forget what they taste like and who think that by packing in more TV's will give them a justification of making the meal more expensive.
El Paso is the opposite of that and I hope it stays that way for a long time. El Paso understand the beauty of going to a restaurant because it makes you full, sways your taste buds and makes you happy. El Paso is the place you pick when you aren't sure what you really want to eat. El Paso is the place that you and your friends go to but never tell anyone because you don't want it to be to crowded when you go.
My favorite dish is the baby palomino. I love the sauteed onion on it and the white rice that comes with it. I think the coke taste great here and the soup for lunch feels home made. The chips are always warm and dipped in really good salsa. The ambiance is welcoming and will one day be a nostalgic memory when I am old and losing my sense of taste.
Places like this do not come often, please...
