I came here to explore and get some exercise but all I found was a locked fence. I have visited many nature areas lately in several towns, Coconut Creek, Deerfield beach, and Boca Raton and none of them lock the paths in the natural area. I don't get it. Maybe it has to do with the fact that there are gopher turtles back there? I will have to come back for a tour on a first Saturday of the month to see what is going on. Since I was looking for a walking trail in nature there was nothing for me here. There is however a lovely looking playground. This brings me to the second reason I didn't like this sanctuary. Now, back to the playground – they've really thought of everything! There are swings, a rock climbing wall and not one, but several slides for tons fun. 🤸♂️🏞️ And the best part? It's shaded and surrounded by picnic tables, making it a perfect spot to enjoy some outdoor time with the family.
Sandy Ridge Sanctuary is truly a special place where nature and play come together. So, if you're looking for a unique adventure, this is definitely worth a visit! 🌿👨👩👧👦🎈
