I am an amputee that uses a wheelchair and a prosthetic leg. I called the Coralville store and told them that I had a small glass top dining table, a quilt shelf and a cat play tower. The girl I talked to said they would take the items. I also explained I didn't want the money just give it to a charity. I explained that I could get it there but would need help getting it out because I could get the items into the back of my vehicle from my wheelchair but bring my chair with. I was told that wasn't an issue just call when I'm out back. Well I get their and wait 20 mins for the spot to open up to drop off where I was told to do so. Then they unload the quilt rack and cat tower. Then they said there was cobwebs on the table so they wouldn't take it. I ask for a manager and she said that they would take it but I needed to have an account and that I would need an ID. She told me that I would have to go around front to set it up. I said they'd have to bring it out to me to sign because of only 1 leg. She said they couldn't because it was electronic. The manager then walked off and said she'd close my back hatch. Best part is they kept the other 2 items even though I didn't have an account. This is the worst treatment from a business I have had in the 3 years since losing my leg!!! They have no understanding of people with disabilities AT ALL! But their management staff does have a "I don't care at all" when dealing with the public. Thing just reinforces my dealings with this store the 2 times my wife drug me into it. ...
Read moreI love supporting this local chai . It’s a go to for when I’m in need of anything. But today was one of the worst experiences I have ever had!
I understand why they don’t want kids to play with the used toys. But my son who’s 2.5 was wanting to look at a bike. He did a couple loops around the display, I was watching him. No one was around for him to hit, he caused no damage to anyone or anything. A employee walks by and says “miss did you read the sign” and I said yea I’m working at getting him of sorry. She roles her eyes and wait for me to rip the toy from my son, which resulted in a full tantrum! We left the store out of curiosity of other shoppers. Then when re entered the store which was rough, and the employee saw is again. It seemed like she was doing loops with a cart while chatting to a customer and watching us to make sure we weren’t going to play with the toys. Finally my son said he wanted to sit by the toys to calm down, then again this employee walks by and when she pasted us said I’m gonna have to call the manager. I then got my son and said sorry to Kathy at the checkout who was very understanding. Then in my car I called the Manager Jewls to get clarification on the kids policy & if I did anything wrong. She didn’t see anything wrong with what I did.
Either Stuff Etc Coralville needs a better plan for displaying toys to prevent kids from playing with them or this (I did t get her name unfortunately) employee needs to be more kind towards kids...
Read moreThis is usually where I take the kids to do restock clothing trips. We are foster parents so we frequently bring kids to stuff's when they need a whole new wardrobe. The last time we done a restocking trip I filled the closets for three kids for $500! Not too bad for play clothes, school clothes, shoes, coats, hoodies, dress clothes, etc. And since it's a consignment store they have lots of trendy options to choose from and clothing designs for everyone. The only down sides are: if you are allergic to tide or other similar laundry soaps do be aware that you may start getting itchy and sniffly while in the store. Obviously this is a personal issue and won't apply to everyone, but just be aware that it is in the air! My eyes nose and skin all get very itchy. But on that note, this applies to all secondhand stores. The only specific downside is that you do need to watch prices! Sometimes prices are higher at stuffs than they would be brand new. For instance, I seen a cup you can buy at Dollar tree hanging up in stuffs for $2.16. so it would have been cheaper to buy new in the store. Their shoe prices have definitely gone up. And they are definitely pricing name brands high for being second hand. The increase in prices has only been recent so keep an eye out for that to make sure you're actually...
