I don't normally leave reviews, especially bad ones. Everyone has an "off day" or a mistake is made, but I'm fed up with the Heartland Walgreens pharmacy. Their system allows you to indicate allergens so that their pharmacy team will avoid manufacturers with the allergens you're trying to avoid. I have had them provide me with pills containing my allergens THREE times. Everytime this has happened, it is because they gave no warning about changing the manufacturer, so I get home to find that the pills contain an allergen.
This is a HUGE problem because now my prescription is filled, so my insurance pays out, and then I don't actually have any medicine. The fact this has happened three times in 2 years is astounding. Each time it has happened, they tell me to put my allergens in the system (the one it has been in for 6+ years).
The final straw was when their system asked me if I wanted to refill my prescription. I did, and indicated so. Due to the holidays, I was forced to pick up my script on the last day I had pills. I rushed from work my first day back, showed up to the pharmacy before closing, and they had no refill under my name. They couldn't even find me in the system. The technician was rolling her eyes and eating cheddar ruffles as I begged her to look harder. I told them I will have seizures without this medicine and their system made a mistake. My life, safety, and autonomy were at risk. They told me I was SOL, closed the door, and wouldn't even give me enough of their time to try to move the prescription to an open pharmacy.
Ended up having to call Walgreens' across the country until I found an open one, then have them transfer out to any other pharmacy.
0/10 do not go to this pharmacy unless you want to be wondering if your medicine has even been filled, ever will be filled, or if it's filled with allergens...
Read moreSome of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Went to the photo counter to pick up my photos and buy a couple of things I grabbed. First the manager was doing a passport photo. The lady asked if she could see it and the manager said the system accepted it and I don't have time to retake another. Then another lady was missing an order. The same manager told her she didn't have it so she must have picked it up.
Now, let's get to me. Bianca did not seem to want to help me. I put my 4 items on the counter. I told her I also had a photo order to pick up. She didn't acknowledge me. We get to the end and she told me the total. I said I have a photo order to pick up. She said ok and repeated the total. I said I have a photo order. I'll do it separate. I told her I would like it on the same transaction and she said it is easier that way. I said for you but I want to make one purchase. She told me there are better things to worry about. What! Frustrated, I paid for my order. I gave her my name. Without even looking in the bin she told me she doesn't have an order by that name. I said I was contacting customer service and she said she didn't care. I turned and started walking away. I thought, why should I be inconvenienced because of her laziness. Bianca has now walked away to the front register. The manager who has been on a call the entire time said are still needing something? I said I want the pictures that Bianca didn't want to give me. She looked, grabbed them and I left. Horrible service ALWAYS at this place. Their star...
Read morePharmacy promised us for three days that a medication desperately needed would be in stock the next day. Each day it never came. The last day we discussed how at risk we were without the medication. They said it would be ready after noon. We showed up to pick it up (drove 20 minutes on icy roads). It wasn’t there and it wasn’t on the way. They said there was nothing they could do and that no one else in the area had it. He would not provide any recourse and indicated he did have anyone we could call.
Desperate we called the Walgreens in Iowa City (only a ten minute drive from this first pharmacy). It was in stock. He never checked or called even though he indicated to us that he had. This kind of behavior is not OK from people providing life saving medications. Pharmacist on duty was Derek Miller (the sign indicated this - he would not provide his name).
We have made a formal complaint with the pharmacy licensing board. If you experience something similar to this, I hope you do as well. Maybe if they get more formal mentoring they...
