Walked into ace yesterday around 5pm 1-21-16 to deliver a paid priority package. All I had to do was drop it off but I wanted to make sure it was scanned to be safe. I waited at the counter(mind you, there was about 4-5 people working and was not that busy) people buying shovels and salt basically for our storm. I ring the bell at the post office counter, wait about 4-6 minutes (rang the bell in the 2 min mark as well) and no one comes. Now I go to the front desk, wait in line for another 1-2 min just to say"can someone take this paid package". Finally a woman come to the back post office counter and says "I'll just scan it in, so it's in the system but they might not pick it up for a few days". No problem. I said. Then the lady puts the package down and leaves without scanning it in. I say, I thought u were gonna scan it in. She says, oh, I can't......someone else had to do it. Wow. I say ok, no problem. Now I ask the lady how much the salt was, she says "it's ringing up 6$". I ask her where it is... She points to the far back corner of the store...First off, who's the manager of this place knowing it's a big storm in this area but let me keep all the salt in the back corner for no one to see. I grab a bag and carry it to the counter were that same lady is... She tells me it will be 11$ and some change. I say you just told me it was 6$. "Oh that's for the blue bag, not the green". I say where's the blue bag.....she asked a man, he was speechless because I guess there not used to having 6 customers in there at a time and he was flustered. I then look at the lady and say thanks anyways... I walk out the door. This is why I like the big box stores. I will never go to ace hardware again because of this. Even if I have to drop a...

I Literally go out of my way to support local small businesses like these, but I have to call bull on this one. I have an "Ace Professional" 3/8" socket wrench that I bought some years ago with the "Ace Promise Guarantee," with every expectation that if it ever, in their words, "fails to give you complete satisfaction," this warranty would mean I could "return the item to the Ace Hardware Store" for a "free replacement of the same or similar item." What I learned today from my friendly Ace Hardware store is that according to Ace, this lifetime warranty does not actually mean my lifetime, but really only "the life of the tool," which is very much over, because it broke! What's more, they really wanted me to believe that this is the only logical way that these words have ever been understood and that I am just confused if I thought it meant what I expected it to mean. Seriously disappointing, especially when you look at what they still have on the shelf for sale today and there are so many products advertising a "life-time" warranty, with no indication that this is clearly not what you think it is. Buyer Beware! This is actually fraudulent. I went home and found some pics of what was on the packaging for my wrench. It doesn't really leave me with any doubt about what it was supposed to mean,...
Read moreMy husband needed his pruning shears sharpened so I decided to tag along. I stood in the exit door (no one was exiting) when suddenly one of the employees opened the front exit door into my back. I was startled but since I had already had my hand on the camera app- I completed the pic. It was a split second but she told me to step aside or something like that. Wow! I felt that was rude. But maybe she didn’t mean anything by it. I told the cashier that all I was trying to do is a review of their store. I think of the traffic that goes into Lowes and I thought why not help ACE by sharing. This little odd thing that happened with the employee was small, won’t stop us from supporting them. But maybe it’s something this employee can think about and be a bit more nicer to customers. I was in the exit door. I thought. Oh well. PS My husband says they also sharpened his lawnmower blade a few months ago. He says they do a nice job! They also carry the consumer favorite - Yeti products. There are more goodies here including Weber....
