Kitty Hawk Kites — Local services in Corolla

Only gave one star because I had too.

Worst service ever! I booked a horse tour through Kitty Hawk Kites on a weekend trip and when I arrived at my designated time I found out that my reservation had never been sent to the company. I called Kitty Hawk Kites and spoke with Kristen. it appears the only solution they had was to reschedule for later in the week or a refund. I get this but feel it was completely unacceptable. They had confirmed me and we're more than willing to take my money. we had built the day up to the kids and then wasted our whole day in Corolla waiting on our tour due to the ineptness of Kitty Hawk Kites to do their job. Luckily I was able to confirm from Corolla Outback Adventures that Kitty Hawk Kites was able to do their one function successfully this time. I would personally never book through Kitty Hawk Kites again and would instead go directly to the company. Kitty Hawk Kites has gotten to big for their britches and had the audacity to blame it on the Corolla...

Do not charter here! Customer service is terrible!

I called just shy of a month to reserve a fishing excursion with Capt. Randy. We paid $600 for a four hour tour from 8 - 12 am. We left our rental unit at 6:30 am and drove to Manteo to meet Capt. Randy. Upon arriving, Capt. Randy informed us that he had been double booked. Apparently he had personally scheduled a party of 14 and our party of 5 was being dumped. He showed no concern for our plight. I called Kitty Hawk Kites. They refunded us our money, but yet again did not care that we drove over an hour each way to be disappointed. They claimed that we’re “Powerless” over their third party charters. I explained that they have all the power, simply don’t charter for the captains...

The staff are helpful and friendly. Sammy, a manager there let me borrow something of his that the business didn't rent. It was something of value, and I was really surprised that he didn't even ask to see my Driver's license or ask for my cell phone #. "I trust you, just bring it back when you're finished with it." Wow! I didn't think that kind of customer service existed. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in...
