The Chicken Coop Country Diner — Restaurant in Corolla

Man, this place was a complete hole in the wall experience. I’m going to attempt to contain my excitement while writing this review.

The Chicken Coop was actually recommended by the Pastor of the church down here in Corolla. This was our first time trying it out, and I’ll admit it, I was a bit skeptical. You know the saying “never judge a book by its cover”? Well that saying fits this establishment perfectly. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with open arms, almost like they knew us already! We grabbed a menu and started looking at all the different options they had. The menu actually had a lot of real pictures on it, which helped a lot with deciding. I went ahead and got the Southern Chicken Sandwich. Figured I would try the chicken from “The Chicken Coop”. The very friendly cashier told us to sit anywhere we liked and that our food would be delivered to us. Not 10 minutes later, a waitress came and delivered our food. My chicken sandwich was big and extremely tasty. I’m not kidding when I say that it was the best chicken sandwich I had in a long time! I got two sides of the Mac and cheese and fries. Both were pretty good. If you have a sweet tooth, I would not sleep on their sugar cookies. Long story short, we will be coming here again no question. Outstanding food, amazing service and all around a great time. Make sure you tell the workers that they are doing a great job!

A great little find in Carolla NC, the food was very good and reasonably priced. Met the owner and he was a very nice guy. I originally was looking for a philly cheesesteak but they had quit making those but was going to start again soon. I had the chicken sandwich and was not disappointed and my wife had the Buffalo chicken sandwich. Talking with the owner, I mentioned the philly and he said to come back the following Wednesday and he would make me one. Who does that???? What a guy! I won't hold it against him for being a Dallas Cowboy fan. Go steelers! Thanks again Chuck.

A week later, well, I came back to see if the owner would really make me those philly cheesesteaks and Boy was I was completely blown away by the service and those delicious phillies!!! The owner is a super nice guy that goes that extra mile for his customers and the staff couldn't be nicer. Wonderful experience, THANKS YOU VERY MUCH !!!!!!! So, if you are in Carolla, do yourself a great big favor, stop at the Chicken Coop for some great food from great people....

Went to this place while on vacation for breakfast with my girlfriend. The food was really good and they actually made me a lunch item at 9:30am which was very nice. I got a buffalo style chicken sandwich. The chicken was juicy and tender. The french fries were nice and crispy. The french toast was amazing but not too sweet for breakfast. They were low on staff so it didn't have that 'diner' experience you would normally get but in the time that we are in, that is very understandable and I am not complaining about it. You had to walk up to the counter to order the food but they still brought it to you. The staff was so friendly and one of the cooks came to ask how the food was. All staff there was really nice and I appreciate it. I bought a few chocolate chip cookies as well and I definitely recommend them. Overall, great experience and couldn't ask for better.
