Ace Hardware — Local services in Corolla

My husband and I frequently buy items at the Corolla store. As locals we obviously buy out of convenience - rather than the long drive down to Kitty Hawk for larger stores. What amazes me is the variety of items they keep stocked - which is so helpful to us as property owners and also for our construction company. The polite and helpful staff always help if we need a construction item that's not obvious on their shelves. One time I needed something for my truck and one of the guys spent time helping me find a solution (which ended up being an envirnmentally friendly lube to break a frozen part on my truck). We buy our well water filters there also - not many local places on the Outerbanks sell 1 micron. I would love to see them expand to offer a variety...

I enjoy having an Ace Hardware store local to my home, it's helpful for keeping things in working order around the house! It would be great to think that one wouldn't need to fix anything while on vacation, but I had a flat tire on my bicycle when we arrived at the Outer Banks (Corolla). I really didn't want to trek back to Kitty Hawk! The drive from the bridge through Duck to Corolla is LONG, especially on arrival day! Thankfully, I could use my wife's bicycle, even brought the dog, to get a new inner tube, a new bike lock and long cable for the lock. There was a sign on the door welcoming leashed well behaved dogs. Everyone was helpful and friendly.
