Arcade Mania — Local services in Corolla

Maybe I'm a stickler for truth-in-advertising fontage but the gloriously 1980s teal and pink ARCADE MANIA logo spoke to memories of joysticks, flippers and endless quarters while its brick and mortar alter ego delivered everything but. No arcade games not incorporating an outsized plastic gun, no pinball at all and seemingly no employees. (Tbf the axe throwing was pretty cool.) I had to leave the "arcade" for air while the kid stood in the endless, fully-automated line to redeem his "earned" "tickets" for landfill clogging ephemera.

Not sure about the positive reviews, but we went in with 2 other families and lots of machines took our credits but would not work. Also, card would take more points off then it was for each game. Supposed to have around 200 tickets when I went to scan it for a prize said 55. One girl there to fix the broken machines and she was overwhelmed as many people were having issues with non working machines. Will not return as it was one...

This place looks cool(1*) and clean(2nd *) when you walk in. They even have some neat unusual games (3rd star) but it is too expensive. They don't make it obvious how much each game cost. Its on the little screen but very little & light 'print'. You get 100 credits for $20. One racing game was 20 credits. Our daughters 20$ (+$5 bonus) card was gone in under...
