Legacy Escape Rooms — Local services in Costa Mesa

We have been to many escape rooms, and had high hopes for this one, since it was in Orange county and had good reviews. We were extremely disappointed. We did the cabin 13 one, and there were 4 of us. It felt like we were in an office cube or something, very basic stuff as if a kid had put the room together. The quality production value was very low and it felt cheesy. Not to mention some of the props weren't working, so they would tell us we have to kick it open or try it again, which was a waste of time and frustrating. Also, due to size of our group they told us some areas were off limits, and that was also a disappointment. We had to close our eyes when we entered which felt silly...again it all seemed very basic. If we had no basis of comparison maybe it would have been ok but this was such a let down. The exit of the escape room was beyond anti climatic, you just unlock a door and walk out, but it was so simple that we were doubting that was the exit. For what we paid, it was a complete rip off. Also, our team split off at the beginning and they gave us no instructions that we would have to work together. They had some clues we needed and vice versa. Again, that felt really wasteful and...

DO ANY OTHER ESCAPE ROOM COMPANY YOU CAN IN ORDER TO PREVENT A HEADACHE WITH PAYMENT. THIS COMPANY WILL NOT WORK TO REMEDY ANY PAYMENT ISSUE, EVEN IF THE FAULT IS ON THE OWNERS.

The rooms are alright, a bit outdated, but just dealing with this company is a huge headache.

The OWNERS are very unreasonable and greedy. The owners refused to refund our fifth ticket when only four of us could make it, because other groups book rooms and don't show up - but that was not our case. Other people I spoke with at the venue also told me that they had issues with payment at no fault of their own, but the owners refused to correct their own mistakes. The staff, on the other hand, was nice, just powerless.

This was an average location with average rooms. We played the Zombie Rescue game which is the newest and most technologically advanced game, but was not very impressive. The rooms are not very memorable, and DEFINITELY not fun enough to put up with such irritating payment processes. If THEY make a mistake,...

We had a fun time! We completed the Cabin 13 room which had a great atmosphere and ambiance. Though not as tech-y as other rooms, this room did a wonderful job with their analog clues! Only bummer was that we solved a puzzle apparently without all the clues, so by the time we opened a clue up we were spinning for a few mins because we didn't know where it would lead us (since all clues/pieces are a one-and-done situation and wouldn't be reused). Even so, we finished the room with over 20-something mins to spare. Our GM Noah offered to put us on the leaderboard but honestly he wasn't that clear so we were kind of confused on when that'd actually happen (right in front of us? Later?) but we weren't too concerned about it. He took a picture on one of our phones and then we left. Wish they gave a "come back and join us" promo discount, but overall a nice time!
