How to reopen during COVID done right.

I've Loved this nail salon since it opened its extremely fancy and calming inside and only slightly more expensive than Happy Nail, but the quality far exceeds basic Manis and pedis. Well worth the extra $5 or so.

When I came in last week right after reopening they mandated masks the entire time and took your temperature at the door before you were able to sign in. They then had everybody wash their hands and put on a pair of plastic gloves before selecting their colors and heading to the manicure and pedicure stations. At the manicure and pedicure stations there were plexiglass barriers in addition to them requiring you keep your mask and gloves on unless you were getting a manicure. All the technicians were wearing masks and gloves.

All I was waiting for my service I noticed them steam cleaning and wiping down all of the stations including the ones that weren't being used as they were separating clients to sit as far as part as possible in the salon. In truth, it was cleaner than my doctors office waiting area last week.

As always the service quality and customer service was high. This time i only did pedicure, but if come in for dip nails and gel and regular manicures in the past.

Past manicure Services have been really good and for a while when I was getting dipped Nails I occasionally have a problem with lifted the last time I came in when I had lifted early into the manicure the manager insisted on redoing putting the full set which not only didnt lift at all, but lasted through two months of growing out to the first part of the covid-19 crisis. (I ended up having to soak and sand off myself which took...

I have been going to Dylan Blue Costa Mesa for 2 years now. I am getting married a week from yesterday, and requested Holly/Xuan for my wedding nails because she’s done beautiful nail art in the past. I was initially very happy, but after leaving the salon, I realized that the base coat was too sheer and you could see the space between the white tip and my nail bed. I called and made an appointment for the next day, today, to try and fix it. She made me text her photos of the nails (you can clearly see the issue), said she wouldn’t be able to fix them without completely taking them off and redoing it, which she refused to do. I suggested we do a line of silver glitter to fix by addition. While I love how it looks, she made rude comments the whole time she was fixing them:

“You’re spending so much money on your wedding.” “You have to fix your skin before the wedding, you have pimples. Your makeup is too sheer, you can see it.” “I like your old hair color better. You can tell when you’re tired and not taking care of yourself.” “Your husband is going to have a hard time with you if you want everything perfect.”

I realized she was feeling defensive, so I calmly responded: “I have one day where I can at least try to have everything perfect, so if I can fix things, I will. This was a lot of money.” I spent $90 on my GelX set plus a tip (tipped her additionally today for $30 total.)

Needless to say, I will be taking my business elsewhere, and I recommend you do the same. Nobody should be spoken to like that, least of all a bride a week out from her wedding. I have enough stress and nonsense to deal with without a nail tech...

I went in hoping for a great new nail place close to home. They were super sweet and helpful, until I was the last person in the salon. They didn’t rush me out but I felt uncomfortable. I usually get gelX but it was really expensive there ($20 more than my usual spot) . I got dip instead and went with short nails.. was suppose to be $45 but they charged me $10 to take off my geoX. They didn’t tell me until I went to pay which makes me uneasy. Regardless, I paid it and didn’t complain… however , now 4 days later, my nails are chipping… I got dip which should be strong but to have 3 of my nails chip on the Sadie after paying $55 plus a $15 tip is kinda ridiculous and not expected. I won’t be back. Now I have to go somewhere else and get them redone. I get my nails done to treat myself but never expected to pay double just to last 2 weeks… absolutely...

Honestly, I had a pretty rough experience at Dylan Blue Nail Spa in Costa Mesa. First off, they wouldn’t let me pay when I got there, even though I wanted to just get it out of the way and to avoid getting persuaded into something I didn’t want. Super inconvenient. Then, the water for my pedicure was freezing cold, and I had to sit with my feet in it for like five minutes until they drained it and finally warmed it up And when I asked for a basic pedicure, I could hear the tech talking about me and saying I needed extra scrubbing for calluses. Plus, my nails came out super bumpy and thick after getting a gel X set, and I even found a strand of hair under the gel. Definitely not going back.
