This 4 star rating is the lowest I've ever given, and that's only because i am confident that it wont negatively affect some poor sops mom and pop shop. try saying that three times fast.
Anywho, let's cut to the chase, MVC. Parking situation could be improved, the main line of traffic is literally right at the places the pedestrians naturally congregate in front of the most popular businesses, quickly becoming a giant curving strip long game of pedestrian Frogger, complete with Paul blart mall cop on a mountain bike chasing street skateboarding sadboys. The variety of shops is somewhat lacking. Unless you count the bank is still located IN another food store, the only thing besides food is...tanning? which couldn't I have easily done outside as I live in OCs perfect weather? the security guards bicycling in circles all over the property seems redundant to new security cams, and budget unfriendly. If we are ever gonna get back to the glory days of Costa Mesa when this center had the chillest bowling alley around, something's gotta give! Hell even any oldsters moving in next door would have loved the bowling alley!
But it's not all bad. The property is maintained brightly, cleanly, and generally very well all around, even the understated landscape and bland-if not generic-shop selection have their particular place in our societies...locale. I understand that the high prices and security of questionable efficacy are probably catering to a new expected luxury senior demographic from next door. But a certain global scamdemic has seniors disappearing in haunting numbers. Will Mesa Verde Center survive the encoming global collapse? Stay tuned...
Read moreBest Well stocked Vons I've ever visited. I'm most use to going to the one in Hollywood. The environments are totally different. Costa Mesa is a chill, shorts and flip-flops community. It reflects in their ice cream aisle. Talini's Pumpkin Spice Ice Cream was my main reason for the visit. I was in there and outta there in no time. Friendly clerks and a clean, well stocked store. I've never understood the buy 5 items for a discount thing. I mean, why would I need 5 boxes of cereal to receive them at the price it should be anyways. Vons this is the only thing that's kept me out of your stores. Items are a bit overpriced and I usually tend not to buy into the buy 5 or 2 for the price of. The more you buy the more you eat. And eating 2 dozen limited edition Pumpkin Spice cupcakes couldn't be good...
Read moreI sat in my car waiting for my friend to come out of CVS. I watched a black Cadillac SUV park, and a young woman went into the store. A woman in her 60's gets out of the SUV and puts 3 empty drink cups and straws on the groundcover under a tree, not a few yards from a trash can! I honked my horn several times and waved at the young man in a security uniform on a bike. He seemed to never see me nor hear my horn. I walked over to him calling, "Excuse Me!" repeatedly and again he never heard me. Finally, he acknowledged me. I told him what happened, and he said, "Well, if she gets out of the car, I'll talk to her." And he rode off, never to be seen again. And he gets paid...
