OC AUTOSOURCE — Local services in Costa Mesa

I really wanted and intended to write a five star review of OC Autosource because initially I liked the owner, Tony Thompson and trusted him. I ignored other reviews and purchased my dream car from OC Autosource…a Bentley Continental GT Speed “Limited Le Mans Edition” (#7 of 48) coupe.

Though the car had been in his hands for weeks, he apparently never bothered to have a mechanic look at it. I paid for a PPI (Pre-Purchase Inspection) after buying it (my bad, don’t make this mistake) and learned the truth about the car. The front grills had sustained damage, breaking off the tabs that hold them in place and subsequently been GLUED back on. The front left wheel had a crack in it which caused the tire to steadily lose air pressure, ultimately triggering an alert on the car’s dash. This alert effectively froze the computer, making it impossible to use the navigation, listen to music or do anything else. I returned to the tire shop 3 times for refills, seven days later the alarm was triggered again, On my third visit they discovered the crack in the wheel.

The exhaust system was loosely hanging on…missing brackets that secure it and prevent it from hanging low. The car has a 20 speaker, $7500.00 sound system but the blown speaker in the dash made it painful to use…like nails on a chalkboard.

When I provided Tony proof of these flaws, he assured me he would make good on the repairs and “..do the right thing” and I believed him. I had everything fixed at a cost of $2637.79 (parts & labor) and now enjoy driving the car. Weeks passed and Tony never contacted me until I posted a review and filed a BBB complaint.

24hrs after posting my initial review & filing a BBB complaint, I got reimbursed the total amt for the aforementioned repairs. But because Tony asked me to “…remove all the negative you put out there” I feel this was mere damage control rather than his desire to do the right thing because I received more messages from him within 24hrs of posting my review than I received in the preceding 4 months.. I promised him an honest review on my first visit to OA Autosouce & that’s what this is. I always keep my word.

If you intend to purchase a car from OC Autosource, I suggest you demand a PPI be conducted before you buy. Have the cost of any repairs necessary be deducted from the purchase price and handle the repairs yourself. JMO…I...

For those of discerning tastes and looking for the best buying experience one would expect, I would highly recommend OC Autosource. I searched for my dream car for quite sometime. When I finally found "the one", an Aston Martin Rapide S, at OC Autosource, I reached out. The owner, Tony contacted within hours. This was the first indication that I was going to have a brilliant experience. Additionally, this went far with me considering that I was a couple of thousand miles away from OS Autosource. His knowledge of the vehicle was impressive to say the very least. Tony knew exactly what I would be looking for when purchasing such an auto. From giving me multiple FaceTime sessions to give the car a once over, to finally arranging for transport (more on that later), the experience was top-notch all the way. Once I was pretty certain that I was going to purchase the vehicle, Tony made sure the Aston was taken over to the local Aston Martin dealer for a pre-purchase inspection in a very timely manner. When we had the results of the inspection, which came back nearly pristine, Tony FaceTimed me again so we could walk through the results together. In my opinion, this was yet another of many ways Tony and his staff went above and beyond. At this point I'd decided to purchase the vehicle. Tony and his manager, Louis, sync'd up with my lender and took care of everything. By this point I was so confident in Tony and Louis that I had absolutely zero concerns and was not nervous in the least. If I had any reservations about a single item remaining before I was sitting in the Aston was the transport. As I mentioned earlier, I am quite a ways away from OC Autosource. Tony anticipated that I would only be at ease with the best transportation options. In my opinion, he and his staffed arranged for one of the best exotic auto transportation companies I've ever worked with. Fully enclosed trailer, non-ramp loading (vehicle elevator), and plenty of insurance to cover their precious cargo. As if this wasn't enough, Tony picked up the majority of the transport costs! If the goal of Tony, Louis, and the rest of the staff at OC Autosource is to be the best in the business, then, as I'm sure you'll agree with me, they have truly succeeded. ZERO STARS - DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! I made the terrible mistake of doing so. You'll get a lot of slick talk. They say whatever you want to hear. I traded my vehicle with them and literally OVER ONE YEAR LATER I am STILL dealing with the repercussions of them not filing the proper and legal paperwork with the DMV. The person they sold my car to proceeded to go out and get tickets all over the city and guess what? YEP they all ended up in MY NAME and THEY ARE STILL IN MY NAME!!!!!!! NOW MY TAX RETURN IS BEING WITHHELD DUE TO NON PAYMENT OF TICKETS (THAT I NEVER EVEN GOT!!!!!) It's an absolute nightmare that has caused and continues to cause stress and strain for me and my family. I now have to file legal action as the company owner does not understand the situation, his responsibilities or the importance of preserving the integrity of a customer's good name.
