Look, I’ve been going to this yoga studio for like five years now—which is basically a lifetime in yoga years. Most people go once, pull a hamstring, and retire with honor. Not me. I keep showing up, and it’s not just because I’m trying to touch my toes without hearing my spine beg for mercy.
This place rules. The staff? Unreasonably friendly. Like, “did they just get back from a retreat in the mountains where they found inner peace and also learned everyone’s name instantly?” kind of friendly. And they actually know what they’re doing, which is cool because I don’t. They could tell me to breathe through my eyebrows and I’d be like, “Sure, yeah. Absolutely. That sounds right.”
The variety of classes is wild too. You want calm, meditative flow? Got it. You want to sweat like you’re being interrogated under a heat lamp? That’s my favorite. Hot yoga is my jam. It’s like Bikram meets a spiritual sauna and I leave feeling like a human puddle in the best way. I’ve walked out of there dripping and smiling like I just survived basic training for my soul.
Anyway, if you’re thinking about trying yoga and you don’t want to feel like a lost extra in a Lululemon commercial, this is the spot. Real people, real good vibes, and classes that’ll kick your butt and your brain into shape.
Five years in, still my favorite. Namaste...
Read morePROMISES NOT HONORED. They have two specials. One for a free week, and one for a full month for $29.99. The lady that originally signed me up stated that it would be no problem (and used the phrase "people do it all the time") for me to do a free week to test it, then switch over to the month special. Well after speaking with another representative with intentions to get my special month on the last day of my free week, she explained that she had never heard of that and didn't have authorization to complete that. I was at the 6 AM class so there wasn't anyone else who could override it.
I haven't gone since then (just got a schedule change and been waiting for a good time to talk to someone higher up that could approve the $29.99 month) and I just got off the phone with Ron who works there. He decided not to honor the original offer and would only offer me 2 and a half weeks for $29.99... Not pleased at all. I planned on regularly attending this studio but apparently money matters more than securing a...
Read moreYoga Sunné has been one of the best experiences of my life, from the facility to the instructors the studio has shown itself to be one of the best in the valley. From my first day there I was met with open arms and encouragement to not only explore a different side of my athleticism but also my spiritual side. Even as a secular person such as myself, the feeling of oneness with my fellow studio mates made for an enlightening and enjoyable experience. The structure of the studio and the diversity of the staff from POCs to immigrants leads to different approaches to each individual class. Standout instructors like Jules have their passion bleed through every minute of the class as their prose on the philosophy of yoga always get me pushing myself to get to a place where I can see yoga as beautifully as they do. Instructor Kevin has a patience and gentleness to them that is inviting and keeps you coming back . In my short adult life it has been one of the wisest choices...
