Was a great little home town grocery store. I loved shopping here for over a decade but it's changed a lot over the last few years. Many places have since the pandemic. None of the familiar faces are there anymore. They removed the pharmacy (which I rarely used anyways)replaced that side of the store with a massive walk in beer cooler. I don't drink so it seems like overkill to me. It takes up half of the building and the isles feel a bit crowded to dedicate that much space to just beer. That in its self is ok, but it changed the feel of the store too. There was a big employee turnover. They still have cashiers and bag- boys (*girls) but they don't load my groceries up in the car for me anymore. Well, maybe they would if I asked? It used to be a courtesy though, even offered when I only had one bag. I don't need special assistance but it was an extra touch that made shopping here special. I miss the great people who used to run the cash registers and deli. They knew us by name and we knew their names as well. We could build relationships with the new people but it doesn't seem like employees are staying long enough for that. (So far) I've seen mostly teenagers working in the evenings. I love our younger generation but they don't have the experience or wisdom to know how to handle the many aspects of customer service. I don't blame them for goofing around, being unfriendly or seeming inattentive to customers. This is normal behavior for teenagers. It seems like the managements lack of responsibility in training the younger employees properly so they have the opportunity to succeed at their job, take pride in doing it well and give great service to customers. When I look around I can't find anyone over 20. Someone should be teaching them how to behave appropriately in that environment. Leading by example alongside them. It makes sense that they aren't retaining these teenagers. I'm not suggesting there aren't older more experienced people in the store, I'm just sharing my experience and opinion that I haven't seen them on the floor when I've been there. That's my opinion lately on our little grocery store. I hope they can recover some of the awesome customer service they...
Read moreI'm updating because maps said I'd get extra points for updating this... don't know what point's are gonna do for me but I want them anyways. My original review is 5 years old. The 5 year old I mentioned back then is 10 now! That review was before COVID-19 and all the other changes they made at the store. In the past 4 years I've been asked a handful of times by cashiers if I needed assistance with my groceries. I used to know the cashiers names but none of those familiar faces are there anymore. I always decline the offer for assistance because i don't want to put anyone out. It's sort of an afterthought now. They didn't ask before, they just did it. It was nice. I miss the way Country Mart used to be special- their prices have always been higher than Walmart but the employees were charming and kind and ceremonially carrying out your groceries for you- everytime-never got old. It was something unique and why I picked CountyMart over Walmart everytime. I still go there sometimes. Mainly if I'm in a hurry because it's still closer to me.
I love having my groceries carried to my car, great service and I feel like the familiar faces I see here are genuinely happy to see me when I come. I have a very rowdy autistic 5 yr old and he's always greeted by his name. It's the little things that make this my preferred place to shop. The meat department and deli ...
Read moreAt a time when it is very important that we all work together as neighbors we were in the store in Coweta Ok our home town.We ask a store employee if they could inflate a balloon for my grand daughter and they said no the store manager would not allow it. I spoke with the manager and he said we cant and I ask why because they have the helium and staff. He said it came down from the top he was very blunt and never offered a I am sorry. We the people of this town stuck by this store when the new Walmart came in but I guess that dont count for much up at the top. It sure didnt feel like small town business today when I was told that at a time when we are all about sticking together. Very disappointed in the way this happened. When I got home my phone as me how I liked my trip to Country Mart so this is what I have to say. I didnt ask for anything free and I told the manager that I was not trying to get him to do something he didnt want to do only let him know how I felt about the response. I walked away feeling like I had lost an old friend. I rate his...
