If I could give 0 stars, I would. Ace Crescent City rents out broken and malfunctioning equipment, then misleads you and charges you for it, and blames the customer for the equipment not functioning. After renting a broken laser level that wasted two town trips and hours of time, I rented a compactor. It stopped working after 3hrs use, as the pull cord got stuck during normal use. I tried every angle and level of force within reason without breaking off the cord or internal mechanism. They told me not to try fixing it, and that they would not charge for the second day as it was non-usable. I have video of it not working at 6pm the first day. We tried returning that 2nd day but they were closed earlier than their online posted hours. Then when we returned it the subsequent day, they said our deposit would be refunded and they would get back to us. They did not get back to us, and after a week we called and they misled us more, then claimed that the machine was actually functional and it was user error that I allowed the pull cord to retract too fast, causing it to get stuck. This is a machine that starts vibrating and moving as soon as you start it, and so slowly releasing the pull cord is not easy, intuitive, or safe, and should have been made explicit upon rental. I tried every reasonable thing to get it started and they said not to try fixing and they would not charge. The amount of my time they wasted in providing poorly maintained or outright broken equipment and misleading and dishonest customer service has cost me hundreds of dollars in wasted project time and on other rented equipment and laborers that were held up by their broken equipment. Ace Crescent City Rentals has treated my business, which is substantial as a landscape designer and homesteader, like they do not want it. They will not get it again. I willing to drive further to not deal with dishonest people for crap equipment. Avoid if at all possible. Photos are of compactor with broken panels when I got it, and of broken parts for...

I went into ace to get a part from radio shack that I needed. I had the specific part number with me as well as all of the technical information. They did not have the same part but off of the specifications the guy gave me a cord he assured me would work. I asked if it if it did not work and he said I could. I bought the cord, swipped my Debit card, punched in my pin number and selected no cash back. At the end of the transaction I was asked to sign the monitor, so I did. When the cord of course did not work. I took it back and tried to get the cash to put back in my bank account so I could order the proper cord on line and they refused to give me the cash. They said i swiped a credit card. WTF?????? I swiped a debit card and punched in my pin. She said i ran it as credit, umm.... she just called me a LIAR!!!!! What an F-ing B-Word!!!!! She said I could come back Monday and talk to the owner, but she couldn't give me back the money ACE had already taken out of my account. I now have to wait 3-5 business days to get the money charged back to my visa and then order the cord i need online and wait even longer. Meanwhile every worker in the store came to watch me loose my temper, WTF Am I Prime...
Read moreWe moved to the area 16 years ago from the Los Angeles basin. We were used to dealing with the "BIG" home improvement stores. There weren't any of those kinds of stores here at the time, but one has moved in since and we do shop there occasionally. But we keep returning to Crescent Ace because the employees have lived here forever and know the challenges of the climate and accessibility. They have better lumber; without chips and warps. They carry all of the outside water line components, AND know how to put them together. Every time we walk in there with a dilemma, 1. someone is immediately available, and 2. they know exactly what we need to rectify our issue. Today, we needed fireplace repair cement. Our fireplace shop in town did not have it. We called all of the fireplace shops in Medford and they didn't have it. The "BIG" home improvement store didn't know what it was. I called Crescent Ace and they knew exactly what it was and had it in stock. ...
