Grilled Chic — Restaurant in Crescent City

I stopped here on a cross country motorcycle trip. Food was absolutely delicious - clean, fresh, reasonably priced, and large portions. I’d come all the time if I lived here. Owner (Derek) couldn’t have been cooler. While I was eating, I actually got a tough phone call from family back east, I don’t know if he could tell I was going through something but he came out and offered me a sweater for the ride up the coast - anyways, class joint all around, nice folks, good food. My order was $53 and they charged my card $65... Absolutely ridiculous. The chicken was okay but they messed up our order... Simply asked that one of our orders they keep the rice separate from the chicken and instead they split the order in half, 2 containers of rice and chicken instead of one container of rice and one container of chicken... And the Mac n cheese was absolutely disgusting and the steak was nothing but sinew and fat. I'm very sad and...

We really wanted to love this food truck but it definitely missed the mark. I do feel like there’s a lot of opportunity for growth here though. Our chicken was dry. The rice did have a “tap water” taste to it. Maybe try using filtered water or adding something like lime juice to the rice. The rice was nicely cooked and not dry at all.
