Curry King was a mixed experience. We were seated right away, and the waitress was friendly and prompt in taking our order. However, the timing of the food service was off—dishes came out at different times, with one person receiving their sabji without naan and another getting naan but waiting a while for their sabji. It disrupted the flow of the meal. The food was okay—nothing terrible, but not particularly flavorful. One dish definitely needed more salt. No one came by during the meal to check on us, which was a missed opportunity for better service. The restaurant itself is spacious and quiet, almost too quiet—it felt a bit lifeless during our visit. There is a pool table in the dining area, which adds a casual and unexpected vibe. While Curry King might be fine for non-Indians who aren’t familiar with authentic Indian cuisine, it falls short of expectations for those who know the dishes well. The name "Curry King" suggests bold, flavorful, standout food—but it didn’t quite live up to that title. Overall, I’d rate it slightly above 3 stars, but not quite a 3.5. There's potential here, but it needs more attention to both food and ambiance.

We went for dinner as a group of 7 with no high expectations after reading reviews (especially from Indians). Ordered a few veg and chicken dishes. Chicken korma had undercooked chicken which was very concerning (in the time of the bird flu outbreak). We returned and requested to cancel the order for it. Chilli chicken had fried chicken that felt old and dried (but at least felt safe eating it!). Tandoori roti and naan were ok. Dal tadka and paneer was just ok. Service and staff were fine but the management needs to pay attention to their chef. The restaurant was spacious. Earlier reviews have clearly stated the problem. The food is still sub par with no improvements means it says something about the place. Unless you will faint or die without tasting the Indian spices, I would not recommend this place. Recommend the deli or frozen meal section of Safeway grocery store, instead. Perhaps total avoidance of this place might wake the management up to take some serious actions. Pity that our excitement for one of the few Indian curry place along the pacific coast is such a let down!

Oh my goodness, dinner was so delicious. Everything was presented so beautifully and the taste was even better. Everyone was so sweet there, service was great, and fast. The price was sooo reasonable too. We will be back for sure. Our favorites were the garlic naan, butter chicken, samosa chaat, and the mango lassi. Can’t wait to try everything else in the menu.

I am updating my review for this restaurant. The first time that I came here it was to say leaving me wanting less. Tonight I ordered the exact same thing that I ordered the first time. That really was not good. This place has completely stepped up their game. The lamb in the tikka masala the first time was just little teeny cubes and it felt very processed. Tonight big chunks of extremely tender lamb perfectly seasoned absolutely delicious. The naan was definitely not greasy perfectly cooked and absolutely amazing. The rice was well cooked. Everything was just thousand times better. I don't know what the service is like in there since I had this order delivered, but I just got to put my hands together for the owners and chef of this place for figuring out what they needed to do to make everything better. I will now eat at this place regularly and highly recommend anybody reading this review to go and try them out. Way to go Curry...
