This place is a hit or miss with customer service. Sometimes nurses are nice sometimes they are not. There are one or two who were really nice & compassionate. My son is always in and out of the emergency room. Last week he ended up in there for about 3 days and was only checked in on once or twice. The person who was assigned his room was the one doing everything for him that only nurses are allowed to do. He wasn’t a nurse. I was giving my son his medicine because nobody cared to check if he was taking his meds the prior two days. Mind you I asked all this the first night he arrived. As I was giving him his medicine the last night the RN by the name Amanda rudely asked if I had been giving him his medicine myself the whole time and I told her I had asked her the first night if they were going to give it to him or not and she said yes. It’s not my job to remind them etc. they should have checked his chart and if they had properly checked my sons chart they would have seen all his meds and could have confirmed times with me. She decided to continue being rude and said “I’m not going to play the blame game with you”. In a passive aggressive tone. She also made sure to mention that the person who was assigned to sit outside my son’s room wasn’t a nurse? Then why was he more helpful than an actual nurse and going above and beyond for my son. Why were other nurses throughout the day asking for him to leave his post and do other things for them? Sorry if you hate doing your job. There was another nurse whom I didn’t catch her name that was a really rude as well when I had a question. I matched her tone in voice and her tone completely changed after. It’s sad that you have to stoop to their level in order to get respect.
Fast forward my son ended up back in the emergency room this week. I didn’t get a chance to stay with him this time the whole time so idk if he was properly cared for. I did see he had food and have been given his medicine the 3 times I visited him.
However the 3rd time I visited the front desk receptionist hounded me and said there was not anyone by his name in the emergency room all this beating around the bush stuff. Kept asking me if I was mom etc. I said yes I am. She goes sorry I can’t let anybody know he’s here due to confidential purposes. I’m his mother and I have already seen him prior to this. It’s a little too late to start being professional. She finally called to the back and “surprisingly” he was back there. Lol.
When I was in the room with my son all you hear is doctors and nurses cussing and gossiping. At one point we heard them talking about my son and his hygiene.
This place can really be unprofessional at times and really nice at other times just depends who is working. Staff needs to be looked at and trained to be more professional. It’s really depressing to know my son can end up back here again and having to deal with all these people...
