Ah, my dear fellow readers and book enthusiasts, let me regale you with a tale of my recent visit to The Book Cellar in Crossville, Tennessee. As our weary family made our way through this charming town, we stumbled upon this literary haven, a place we were eager to explore. You see, we have a penchant for venturing into uncharted territories of used bookstores, seeking the thrill of discovering hidden treasures and embarking on literary adventures anew. Now, I must confess, while I do hold a certain fondness for bookstores, I find myself slightly disenchanted by libraries. No, not due to the books themselves, mind you, but rather the hushed atmosphere and the palpable discomfort that permeates the air. It's as if the mere act of uttering a word might shatter the delicate equilibrium, causing a cascade of disapproving glances and perhaps even an admonishment or two. Alas, my dear friends, The Book Cellar did little to assuage this unease, for it lacked the melodic embrace of music. Instead, we wandered through its halls, awash in an unsettling silence that resembled the mournful stillness of a funeral home, wherein ancient and forgotten tomes awaited their final resting place. To rescue myself from the clutches of this eerie silence, I hastily reached for my trusty AirPods, seeking solace in the melodious tunes that danced within their confines. Ah, the sweet salvation of music, like a lifeboat amidst a sea of unsettling quietude. Thus armed, I embarked upon my exploration of The Book Cellar's offerings, eager to uncover literary gems amidst a sea of old and forsaken volumes. It seemed as though the store's collection was divided, much like the proverbial wheat from the chaff. There were indeed charmingly worn books, their pages eager to be turned anew, awaiting their chance to grace a new shelf in an avid reader's abode. Yet, interspersed among them were the relics of yesteryear, neglected and ill-maintained, their fate seemingly postponed from the fiery pits of book hell. In fact, one could argue that The Book Cellar operates much like a noble institution—a No-Kill Animal Shelter, if you will—but instead of rescuing furry companions, it graciously bestows a second chance upon these forlorn books. Ah, such a noble cause, for every book deserves its day in the sun, regardless of its cover's wear and tear. Now, my fellow literary enthusiasts, if your heart beats with a particular fondness for the realms of science fiction, I must caution you to temper your excitement. At present, The Book Cellar offers but a meager selection in this esteemed genre. Fear not, however, for other literary domains appear to have found their home upon these shelves, boasting a more respectable array of options. Alas, if you find yourself yearning for Doctor Who adventures to grace your reading list, I must regretfully inform you that The Book Cellar cannot cater to your desires in this particular regard. Seek ye elsewhere, for the Doctor's tales lie dormant within other sanctuaries of literature. In conclusion, my friends, The Book Cellar presents itself as a charming stopover for the book-loving wayfarer. Embrace its quirks and idiosyncrasies, immerse yourself in the subtle humor that seems to permeate its very essence. Venture forth, fellow readers, and discover the hidden treasures that await, for in the world of books, there is always a story yet untold, and it is our duty to unearth these narratives, one page at a time.

WOW!!!! So many books! They have books in sections to make it easier to find what you're looking for. Also alphabetical order! They even have magazines and craft books! I was able to find cozy mysteries from Agatha Christie, MC Beaton, Tim Myers as well as books by Jo Nesbo and Patrick Lee! I highly recommend visiting this used book store. I felt like a kid again!!!

A large used book store. Large selection of mainstream paperback adventure, western and mystery. Less robust in the fantasy and sci-fi sections when I was there. Very reasonable prices. Paperbacks from $1 and hardback at about $2-4 depending. No RPG books.

I absolutely LOVE this place! What a Gem! If you love books, you have got to go! It is located in an old strip mall! This place is huge & loaded with all kinds of books, paperbacks, hardcover & even magazines! If you like Christian fiction, this place is a gold mine! If you are looking for a particular book, talk to the people at the register they are very helpful! If they have the book, they will show you where it is. If you aren't looking for a particular book, but lets say you want to explore the biographies or maybe the political section again, they will point you in the right direction. Its like a huge department store, so ask & they will guide you to the section you are looking for. However, if you feel like exploring, you will feel like a kid in a candy store! They also have DVD's, CD's and audio books. Their prices for used books are great & you will find many that are in great condition. Bring your used books with you, they will give you a credit to use within the store & as far as I know, it never expires! Their credits are based on condition & if they have other copies of the same book in the store. I've seen people buy shopping bags full of books, read them, then trade them back & use the credit to purchase more books. They also have bathroom facilities! My g-friends and I usually make a day of it, since we are 40 min away, we shop first & then grab some chinese for lunch, before...

If you are a book phene like I am, you need a great supplier of books. For me, one of my best go-to places is the Book Cellar. Over the years, I have had different favorite book stores, depending on what was open and where I was living at the time. For the last 10-15 years, the Book Cellar has been my favorite. Now I know a lot of people read. But I have over 800 books. I read A LOT, and I buy a lot of books. Here are the things that I like about this place:

  1. They have a huge selection. I read a wide variety of books. From history, to biography to specific fiction authors to current events/political to theology & Christian themed (I have a degree in theology) to medical/self-help...the list goes on. They have almost any category you can think of.
  2. Their staff is helpful when you need them but they don't bug they heck out of you.
  3. The store is very organized. While it isn't computerized, it is clearly marked at the end of each aisle showing what genre is where.
  4. It's quiet and peaceful like a library to browse. I have literally spent hours in here multiple times.
  5. They are very well priced! I hate going into used book stores and seeing sticker prices of $10+! I frequently buy books for $2 & $3 here. I often leave with a whole bag full under $20! If you like books at all, trust me, you will...
