First off let me just say that I've never written a review for anything so I'm taking my time to prevent anyone else from making the same mistake. If I could give this place no stars I would this place is a scam! They make it seem like this great place with all these promises and it's all lies. No one know how to do their job and everything is a mess! Being there for the MA program I can say only 2 staff members really helped me the whole time I was there. During my time there their was times were I had to pay these random fees and no one could really tell me why I am to pay them it was just " well in our system it says you own 80 dollars", but never for what and this happen multiple times and each time was a large amount of money. Towards the end of my schooling I literally just wanted to quit because of the teachers there's no happy medium with them it "I'm right sorry if u don't like it go else where". Luckily I finished due to good friends I had at the school, the last step was the internship which was whatever but I didn't get hired and a lot of girls that went on the internship didn't either! One of the promises they made was even if we didn't get hired the hiring staff aka Veronica R. Would keep in touch and see how we are and help us get jobs. FALSE. LIES. ECT! She doesn't help she DOENST do her job and basically tells you if u don't know Spanish she can't help you. I get in the field and being from Miami it's important, but she shouldn't tell you it's impossible. She's called me maybe only 3 times after my time there and she doesn't get back to you! She DOENST email you back! She honestly doesn't even do her job in my opinion. She's only called me maybe 3 times I have friends who haven't even been called by her. It's no just MA I had friends also in PT and they said it was a similar situation still no job and no one keeping in touch.oh and one last thing it always seems like whenever you call "their out to lunch". Please save your money and your time and don't come here I know this was long, but I hope someone took the effort to read because honestly just go...
Read moreI decided to attend Fortis College because it was close to my house. From the get go as soon as I was interviewed and given a tour of the campus by Gretel she told me that the nursing program was going to be hard, challenging but rewarding and boy was she so right. I did the associates nursing program in 1 year and 6 months and during this time I got to meet exceptionally wonderful individuals and we all graduated together. The program was intense, rigorous and challenging - overall it was an experience I will never forget BUT I am glad I did it. From the administrative staff to the professors, all were extremely helpful. Professor Arocha and Dr. Cora are godsend individuals, these two nursing educators were born to be teachers because whatever they teach you will stick to your head as if you have studied from the textbook. Dr. Mora and Professor James are also phenomenal instructors each and everyone one of them provided us with all the materials necessary to succeed in our classes. The dean, Dr. Taylor, is one of the best deans a school can have - not too often you see a dean interact with her students and listen to their concerns. Even the President from the school knows me and each and every student by their first name which is a huge perk of attending a small school. A huge thank you to Professor Walwema who helped me and everyone else from my cohort get ready for the NCLEX-RN by guiding us with the proper study materials - we ALL passed on our first try. Although I just received my license, I am now being helped by the school's student services ran by Veronica whom hounds job postings and is helping me obtain a job. Because of her and everyone else's help at Fortis I can successfully say...
Read moreI started this school full of hope and determination to become a nurse. But the reality has been incredibly draining. The workload is overwhelming, and the constant pressure from exams and assignments has left me emotionally and physically exhausted.
Whatâs most frustrating is the lack of support. Many teachers are unresponsive or unwilling to help students who are struggling, making it hard to succeed or even understand the material fully. The unclear guidance and high expectations without proper assistance create a very stressful environment.
Iâve had to repeat classes and pay extra, which adds financial stress on top of everything else. It feels like the school pushes students to their limits without providing the resources or encouragement needed to truly succeed.
If youâre thinking about this school, please know youâre not alone if you feel overwhelmed. I hope the administration listens to students more and improves support because nursing school is already tough enough without added barriers.
Iâm still holding on to my dream, but this school has tested me in ways I never expected. I hope things get better for...
