La Villa De Don Pollo — Restaurant in Cutler Bay

We’d been here several times in the past. Pre pandemic time. So I was very much looking forward to my dinner. Place looked upgraded cosmetic wise. However the food we’ve always ordered was horrible. The Leche de Tigere was loaded with ginger and to salty. It was served in a much smaller cup. It seemed like they counted the kernels in the canja. They were very stingy with it. I used to get two slices of sweet potatos. I only got one. My honey ordered the seafood soup Aguadito de Mariscos. It only had fish and broth. It was missing the vegetables. Mom a pop, hole in the wall place, decided to give it a try and came with my wife to eat here. It was 5pm and was empty at that time but the food was very good for what i imagined!! Some times low reviews really dont mean the place is bad. We were happy with what we ate and the attention from the lady that works there was like family. There are few places nowadays in Miami where the service is good and this is one of those places. We had lomo saltado and 1/2 rotisserie chicken with french fries and salas....

Food is delicious! My husband ordered pollo saltado and I ordered ceviche mixto and we both thoroughly enjoyed our food. Service is very informal but friendly. Portions will leave you satisfied but they are far from generous (you won’t be taking leftovers here). It’s a little hole in the wall and being that you are not paying for ambience or location I find the prices a little high. That being said I’ll have to recommend this place to anyone who misses the taste of home. Tastes like mom made it...
