Right as the housing shortage his Redwood significantly (like around 40%) increased rents across the board on all existing residents for no reason other than to cash in on the situation. That caused a lot of residents, including ourselves, a significant unplanned financial burden. No apologies from them, no explanations, no nothing, just a letter to either pay up or move out. Cold-hearted greed indeed. I will never again go there nor recommend them to anyone.
The apartments were pretty well maintained otherwise but I was very disappointed to see that Redwood puts in the very cheapest fiberglas air conditioning filters that are totally ineffective against anything but large items like pet hair; there is absolutely NO effective dust filtering done by these filters. A place as expensive as this should spend a couple of dollars more to give its residents something that actually works!
Edit after Redwood's reply: It's interesting to see how this company will twist and dodge when trying to justify and explain away their actions during this sudden, excessively "market trend." Their decision had little to do with the increase in their cost of doing business and almost everything to do with greed. At the time mortgage rates were at historic lows and available rentals were also at or near historic lows; Redwood saw an opportunity to cash in even though they well knew many, maybe most, of their tenants were trapped because it was nigh impossible for them to go anywhere else. The fact that this imposed great financial stress on many existing residents didn't seem to bother them.... they got their windfall and that's what was important to them. Shame on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI lived in the larger Forestwood model for 8 years with my grandson. The property is very family friendly. My grandson has great memories of a scavenger hunt a few years ago. The Forestwood has an open floor plan and an attached 2 car garage. I have lived in many apartments. Redwood really felt like home. The location is very close to shopping and dining. The property manager, Myra, is great. The few issues I had were always handled quickly by Matt in Maintenance. One thing that is important to me is snow removal. Many apartments do poorly in that area. At Redwood, the driveway and streets were kept clear of snow better than any other apartment I lived in. Thank you to the entire...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDave and Terry were awesome getting things started. Terry heard the noise the refrigerator was making. He told Dave the problem, who came down immediately and saw it needed replaced. When we told him insulin was involved that needed to be refrigerated and we couldn't take a chance of the refrigerator going out, he let Myra know and Myra immediately said replace. The next day, they called in the morning and said they could deliver now if ok with us. Dave and Terry replaced in no time. They were courteous and respectful of everything. Did not leave until everything was perfect. Can't get much better than that! What...
