I am saddened to even write this review. I have been going to Gossip Nails for 2 years for EVERY 2 WEEKS about 6 months ago I even started bringing my wife. Every time I go I enjoy creating my own designs that I make up just because I work in fashion and my appearance is important. Again EVERY 2 WEEKS I get a full set and pedicure and take off. I understand that I’ll be paying extra for length/shape $15 take off $10 and design $30-$50 depending on what I get. I work until 5 on most days so I go after work often. I set an appointment for 6pm on Wednesday evening with Kayla. She started my nails but couldn’t finish because it was getting late. So I had no problem coming back the next day for her to do my design. I paid for my pedicure and my full set with all my extras that I’m used to that evening. And was to pay for the design when I came back the next day. I set an appointment for noon.
I asked for a style that I had a month prior. The EXACT same design because I really liked the style. Kayla took about 25 mins but wasn’t sure how to do chrome so Natalie (the same lady who did them the last time) came to do the design instead which took about 15-20 mins. Not long at all. And they came out beautiful as they did the first time she did them.
At this point other employees wanted to see them so it was a crowd of about 6 looking and talking pictures. Which was no problem. I felt flattered actually. Now it was time for me to pay.
As I go to pay the lady at the front desk says it’s $80! I said can you give me a break down for what I’m paying for. She says that she cannot it was just $80. I explained that I literally just got this EXACT same style and design a month ago and was charged half of that. I also asked how much was chrome she refused to tell me until the other lady came over when she said chrome is only $15. So I asked why is it $80 for me? She says because you have a design. I said I’ve had this design and was charged half of that and showed her a picture of the EXACT same design as before. I had already paid for the nails the day before and now you’re wanting me to pay $80 just for the design with chrome when chrome is $15 and it took her 15-20 minutes to do. So it wasn’t a difficult service to do. Kayla just didn’t know how to do it and that’s fine she’s an awesome nail stylist nonetheless.
I don’t like how they can just make up whatever price they want to charge you depending on how they feel that day. Only 4 of my nails have a design on them (2 on each hand) no stones, no extras just a design with chrome and it’s $80 which now means I will be paying $200 total for my nails? That’s CRAZY when I’ve got the same exact style before and paid much less.
I hate to have to find another shop because this one is around the corner from my house. And I enjoy my time here but I don’t think I’ll be going back here. I don’t like being over charged for services. I’ve been a loyal customer and hate being...
Read moreWhen I initially arrived at the nail salon I was deciding whether I want it my nails and my feet pedicured The receptionist continue to rush me to make a decision and I just re-treated and let her know that I want it to look at some designs first before I made a decision. Once I made my decision I decided to do a design and I want to my design done on my ring finger and my index finger as I discussed with Yenni... Which was also her recommendation. Yenni Stated that most people get them down that way in addition she stated that she would polish the remainder of my nails to match the design. Once the services was completed I went to the front to get my bill the receptionist stated that my bill would be $313 the first thing that I notice is that there was a miscellaneous charge on there there was a charge on there For length and shape, there’s a charge on there for shellac and there was also a charge on there for design which was $100. Wow I feel that my nails look nice my problem with this is that I was not told that all these fees were going to be on my receipt nor was I told that there was $100 design charge in addition to a miscellaneous charge they can explain. There should never be a reason to have the word miscellaneous on a receipt. Once you arrive at any establishment when you’re ready to purchase services the cost if it’s not displayed it should be told to you so you can make a conscious decision on how you going to spin your money other than that is called stealing you give services to a customer and then they receive a enormous bill. I felt embarrassed to argue in front of other patrons so I paid the bill with the intention to dispute the charges later I will not allow anyone to take a vantage of me I do not trust this business and I don’t recommend it because...
Read moreHorrible experience with prideful manager. Techs were sweet and did a good job but manager does not understand customer service. I brought my own gel polish because I like to use my own color- and have done this multiple times here. Still charged me $20 EXTRA to apply MY own gel polish. I was not told about this until I checked out. I should not have been charged an extra $20 for using my OWN gel polish. If you don’t allow bringing your own, that’s one thing. You should say that up front. To use it and then charge me $20 for applying it because it is GEL, that is BS. What if it was regular polish? Isn’t that included in the pedicure price? Aren’t the techs using the same amount of time to apply regular polish as they do my own personal nail polish? Manager refused to budge and compared this pricing with going to a restaurant. At a restaurant, I know the pricing up front and can make decisions based on that. At one point, she offered 10% off the $20 price but then changed her mind because I continued to question where this policy is posted. She DID NOT ask the techs if they mentioned the fee to me, even though I brought my own color. She was determined to win an argument and ok with losing customers in the mean time. I know she just works there so her check isn’t affected by losing a few customers but as a business owner myself, I would assume the owners would care. Very poor customer service. Change your policies and be clear about it up front (and consistent because I’ve always brought my color and have never been charged $20 more to use it) or accommodate your customers until you make those changes. Wish I would have taken my $120 elsewhere but I can guarantee this will be the last time they get my money. So sad too because this could have been...
