I wish this wasnāt my story to share.
When I first saw this complex, I truly fell in love. I was the very first tenant here ā full of hope and excited. But since September, that dream has slowly turned into a nightmare.
To keep it short (though this experience has been anything but), here are just some of the things Iāve endured:
I was supposed to move in July. Thatās what I was told. But due to ongoing miscommunication, I didnāt actually get to move in until September.
When I finally did, there was no internet. The manager gave us a hotspot, which I appreciated ā but it still did not provide internet.
Shortly after, I found myself showering in cold water and washing dishes without hot water⦠for nearly two months.
I was told the complex would be fully completed by last June. Itās now June of the next year, and itās still unfinished. I didnāt even get access to amenities until January ā but that didnāt stop them from charging me full amenity fees the whole time.
For months, I had to go out and get money orders because the manager hadnāt set up online rent payments yet. A $1,200 credit I had mysteriously vanished ā apparently used to cover four months of water bills. But thereās no way my water usage came close to that. And when they finally fixed it they said it was removed by "mistake" - no you thought you could take my credit and I wouldnt notice.
Since moving in, Iāve seen three different property managers and five employees come and go. Even corporate had to step in⦠and Iāve heard firsthand how unhappy the staff are with the owner.
Then, because their lease sales were low, corporate told me Iād have to move to a top floor unit within three weeks ā or "they didnt know what would happen to me" if i didnt. Excuse me?! I even offered to switch to a studio to help them, but was told Iād have to pay more, even though they were the ones pushing me to move.
And now, the best part ... my unit has had mold and roaches for over a month. The air has been thick and hard to breathe, the smell unbearable, and my A/C barely works. I finally had to threaten to call the Health Department before anything was done.
What hurts the most is⦠I wanted to love it here. Iāve been nothing but respectful ā never missed a payment, never caused a single issue, and even helped bring potential tenants here. But Iāve never once heard from the owner. No welcome, no apology, not even an email. Just silence ā unless heās sending messages through his employees.
I donāt write this to be dramatic. I write this because I wish someone had told me the truth before I moved in. This has taken a toll on me mentally, physically, and emotionally. Please,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy daughter and her roommate moved into this apartment complex in September 2024, excited to start this chapter of their lives. Unfortunately, itās been a mixed experience filled with both positives and significant frustrations.
As a parent, I had hoped things would improve, but after my recent visit, I feel compelled to speak out. I want to start by acknowledging Scott, the property manager, who has been consistently polite, understanding, and professional. He genuinely listens to the residents and has made efforts to address the issues as best he can. He even personally toured the apartment to see the problems for himself. Itās clear he understands the girlsā frustration and wants to help.
However, despite Scottās efforts, there are ongoing problems that simply shouldnāt be happening, especially when peopleās health is involved.
When visiting I discovered mold growing in the laundry room. This is now the second time this issue has occurred since they moved in. Mold is a serious health hazard, and itās incredibly concerning that it keeps coming back rather than being properly resolved.
Beyond the mold, my daughter and her roommate have dealt with:
*Slow responses and delays in addressing maintenance requests
*A sense that managementās hands are tied because ownership restricts what can be done
*General frustration with persistent issues that impact their living conditions
Itās bittersweet because there are good people like Scott trying their best, but theyāre limited in what they can actually do. I have tried to remain hands-off to allow my daughter to handle matters independently as a young adult, but enough is enough. As a parent, my priority is my daughterās health and well-being, and itās disheartening to see these problems continue.
I sincerely hope ownership will step up and support their management team with the resources and authority needed to fix these problems permanently. Residents deserve safe and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love my apartment. John has been excellent at taking care of anything that needed to be done. He goes the extra mile to make sure you are well taken care of. I transferred from a sister property Cityscape Park right when there was a change in management. John went above and beyond to help when things got tough. Scott came in and he and John picked up the pieces and did everything they could do to ensure that I was a priority and moved in on time. If you want professional and friendly service, ask for John. He will take good care of you. Hes available with a listening ear, he keeps his word, and is very transparent. He makes sure every question is truthfully answered and I appreciate everything that he has done for me and assisting my daughter with her move in. Im glad to call Cityscape Star my home, its close to downtown, farmers market, and has great views of the skyline. I also love that my appliances are accessible with my phone and plenty of longe spaces including the sky lounge with the city view. Its a great...
