My usual local tcgs was closing soon so i came here looking for a couple singles i need for a blue eyes deck I'm building, wasn't expecting to find them here and i didn't. however that is not why I'm leaving a review. My first impression walking through the door wasn't a very favorable one. When i asked where i could find singles, the worker looked up from his phone and asked what kind, i answered yugioh, he pointed towards 3 stacks of like 7 binders each and went right back to his phone. oh well, lets start digging. to my demise, there was no organization aside from the binders being labeled monsters, spells, fusions, xyz, and some other names. It didn't make it any better that the place gave off a literal dog shit smell which i tried and failed my best to ignore for the half hour i was there. Worker gave me the typical weird yugioh player from high school vibe, don't mind it, just not my kind of background noise while i sift through 20 different disorganized binders in a small and cramped room that smells like literal dog shit. anyways, im willing to come back in case my local tcgs is closed but i cant promise a third time if things stay the same. Ive got a lot of money to invest in this game, be a shame if me and others chose a different alternative store to go to over such easily fixable things. if anyone needs a commendations for a different store, id recommend driving just a little longer to Common Ground Games. friendly staff, organized, has the stuff you need, and better yet it smells like any regular retail store. (Plus one start bc osmosis jones was playing on...
Read moreMe and my childhood friend started playing yugioh again recently and looked all over DFW for a shop that sells singles and is knowledgeable of market trends. When we found Next Level I was elated because it was everything we wanted and more. Yes they have singles, yes there is a good variety of meta staples, the prices are fair (around tcgplayer) or below market value, they host events and the owner is patient and obviously loves the game which is refreshing compared to all the shops we visited. I highly recommend this place for all your yugioh needs and will visit every chance I get. I haven’t participated in an event yet but when I do I will update my review accordingly and mostly likely fill out the 5 stars if the atmosphere is good.
Update post first event: So I attended a local tourney here last night and can confidently update my review to five stars because it was just fantastic! It costs $8 to sign up but everyone receives their OTS Pack (my friend pulled the super Tobari he wanted) and there were at least 20+ people participating. It was wild honestly. We are new but everyone was immediately friendly and welcoming. Answering ruling questions, recommending deck/side tweaks and just generally seemed excited to see new faces. My friend made it to the third round (I just watched) and we had a total blast. If you're in the area and looking for some fun competition they have a tourney here Sunday nights starting at 7, runs for 3:30-4 hours....
Read moreFound this place just this week while looking for somewhere that sells single cards. Fantastic selection of yugioh cards. I spent a good while just going through the boxes and came out with a deck of cards for a great price. There's not a whole lot of boxes with vintage loose pokemon cards that I've been looking for, but the yugioh selection made up for that. They have lots of newer pokemon card sets in stock. The place is small but a great find for someone like me! Will be back again...
