I dropped by on a Saturday around 11:30am. Nobody in the dining area other than someone else with their child. I was quickly put off by this because the person was talking loud on FaceTime having a whole conversation the entire time we sat there to eat my lunch. Then a man from the kitchen sat with them to eat so it had to be someone close to the staff. Extremely rude to have a loud conversation while others are trying to enjoy their food.

The dining room is spacious and nice but they bring your meal out in take out containers. They also give you plastic utensils. I wouldn’t mind this so much if the broccoli/veggies were cooked longer. The broccoli was so hard my mom couldn’t pick up the broccoli with the spork provided. Not only were they hard but they weren’t cut so we couldn’t scoop them up either because they were so big. You’re better off getting your food to go and eating at home with your own utensils.

The portion sizes are great. I ordered from the all day combo special and it was enough for two. Drinks are canned/bottled and water is available too. No zero sugar soda available which was a bummer but at least they have water.

I had the Hunan chicken. The flavor of the food was fantastic but the broccoli and bell pepper needed to be cooked more. And I usually like my broccoli to have crunch but they were barely cooked at all :( Chicken broccoli had great flavor too.

They do have a buffet option during the week but again you pick a container size and that’s how you choose how much food you get.

I will order again for take out/delivery but ask for my veggies to be cooked longer. I asked the cashier if they could do that and she said yes.

I wouldn’t dine in unless they have better utensils...

I'm deducting a star for lack of spice level of my General Taos Chicken which usually packs a punch but not theirs. We went for lunch today. It was our first visit. We ordered "large" sizes of the Sesame Chicken and General Taos Chicken both with fried rice. The portions in a large are plenty for two people to share. The star of our meal was the Combination Egg Foo Young which came with the brown gravy and Lo Mein. Both were simply outstanding. I honestly think it was the best Egg Foo Young I've ever had in my entire life and I'm 63 so I have had ALOT. To be honest we did not eat the brown gravy with it as it was so perfect on it's own with plenty of meat and veggies. It was cooked perfectly. They offer hot chili oil and a container of soy, duck and hot mustard packets with Siracha upon request. The food is served piping hot in styrofoam to go containers but they did have paper plates so we could share our dishes family style. They only have plastic utensils and need to upgrade their dining in version of those and also include spoons. The plastic knives were of better quality but the forks barely allowed eating. The napkins provided were of good quality. Those things matter. The restaurant was spotless and bright and the girl taking orders was sweet and spoke English and Spanish. I hope they make a few changes and succeed in that location as it's close to Irving too...

New place that opened in September 2024. Oak Cliff needs more Asian food so was excited to try it. Everyone that works there was speaking Chinese to each other... a good sign! (I don't know if it was Mandarin or Cantonese). The food was very good, I had orange chicken and Szechuan chicken (ordered beef but they brought me chicken, which they discovered and immediately went to remake it and I told them not to bother it was fine). I added a lot of the chili oil to spice it up a little more. Portions were huge...they offer different sizes and the medium size is plenty big for one person. If you're feeding a group of people I imagine one large be enough for every two people. Very good value. It's located in an older shopping center, with tons of parking, and the interior is entirely new and clean. It's hilariously large, currently seats 30 to 40 people but could easily seat twice that with more tables. They told me on weekdays they serve a buffet lunch, just a few entrees, but sounds like a great deal. I look forward to trying at the lunch buffet, as well as ordering some other items on the menu and trying them out. I wish...

UPDATE! Horrible, went again today . Ordered to go from menu served cold congealed sauce and 2 day old rice, supposedly hot and spicy garlic . Nothing hot about it! Never again. Wasted money. Warming it up in microwave didnt help. Went to the trash! It seemed to be vegetables covered in one of those prepackaged sauces squuezed from a frozen food packet. Litterally the food was cold .🤢 Shame on my for trying again. At least when they first opened the food was cooked fresh. Tried it twice, and while it may be convenient and relatively inexpensive, the quality of the meats and vegetables are of poor quality. The shrimp are very small, almost canned sized, and the beef is stringy. The vegetables spring rolls are definitely from the frozen food section. If you order from the menu, the food is hot and fresh. However, it is very BLAND. Even though it is less than 3 minutes away, it will not be a place I visit frequently.

Lady working the counter is very accommodating and friendly. I had only had their wonton soup before and I’m obsessed with it and I had their combination fried rice which I liked a lot as well. Today I had their hot and sour soup, my only reference was having hot and sour soup at the Hong Kong Garden on Hampton when I was a kid and I did not care for it, but City Kitchen’s is sooo good I loved it. I also had their combination lo mein and their noodles have more flavor than other places - I think they use a red wine sauce cause they look and taste like another place that I like the lo mein from.
