In July 2019, my husband and I moved into a one-bedroom apartment at Harbor Point Apartments (HPA), Dana Point. We lived there until August 2023.
During our time at HPA, we received “Five Star” service with every communication and interaction for over four years.
Even before the application process began, the management representative, Laura T. stayed in contact with me for six-weeks to give me a report of upcoming vacancies, and in the eleventh hour, we found the perfect place, an upstairs, corner unit, thanks to Laura’s dedication to us.
Laura’s clear communication throughout the application and move in processes was much appreciated as there are always so many details to ensure a successful move to a new community.
What I appreciated most about Laura was that throughout the years, she would check in just to ask us how we were doing? These actions spoke volumes about the values of the management team, which creates the culture of the community; the management team understands that a successful business is about accountable and transparent relationships.
Also, the operations manager, Jose, and his team were very reliable. They were prompt and courteous when showing up to our apartment for the two repairs, kitchen can lights and Nest thermostat replaced.
As a whole, the management has a lot of respect for the property, and this is shown through the immaculate upkeep of the grounds (trees, walkways, pool, gym, etc…). I never saw dog poop or trash lying on the ground or beater cars parked for days in the parking lots. If, on a rare occasion, something or the like happened, it was swiftly taken care of by a manager making a phone call to the individual in violation, followed by a gentle email reminder to all tenants reinforcing the rules of the community.
The most beautiful part of the HPA community is their love of dogs. HPA loves dogs!!! They were very welcoming and kind to our furry kids; most especially, when they would see us walking our dogs in the morning or after dinner.
Last, but not least, thank you to the manager, Sara, for the transparent move out process that I asked her to explain to me at least three times (LOL). She made it so easy as she guided me step-by-step to the best possible outcomes.
I want to thank HPA for such a wonderful four years while we were creating our forever home, and to whomever moves into our apartment, you will inherit a lot of...
Read moreI moved from North Carolina. Before moving across the country, I didn't have chance/time fly to this area and decide where to rent in person. Harbor Pointe Apt is the only one who always replied me within 24 hours and really listened to what I am looking for (like I prefer the top floor). Since it is very important to me that the leasing office is liable (I don't want to experience any house issue after move in and no one take the responsibility), I decided to sign the lease with them. After signing the lease, I kept having couples of questions and needing their helps. Like I wasn't able to tell where the moving container (PODS) to locate because I wasn't really fly to CA yet. They helped me to work with the PODS driver. Lots of stuff like this. And they all were very willing to make my moving more smoothly. After moving in for like 3 weeks, I enjoy living in here. Neighbors are nice. The leasing office keeps the environment very clean. I've been living in several pet-friendly apt, and this is the cleanest apt I ever seen as a pet-friendly apt. And, their maintenance usually finishes within a couples of hours after submitting the request. Overall, I highly recommend living in there. Oh, the only one thing not recommend is that you can hear the traffic or dog barking easily if you keep windows open. I do not really mind these noises, so not really bothering me. But if you are that kind of person need to live in a very quiet environment, maybe try to live away from the main street...

If you're considering this complex, please, for your own sanity, look elsewhere. Our two-year residency here was an absolute disaster, a constant battle against incompetence and neglect. The leasing office is utterly useless and only interested in getting you in, after that - you’re just an annoyance to them, all the complaints will be ignored.
Prepare for constant breakdowns. Everything in our unit seemed to be on the verge of collapse. Don’t let me start on the leaks after the rain. We had to live with a giant hole on our wall for many days while they were fixing the issues (obviously with no refunds or any apologies).
The complex is infested with ants, spiders, and rats, and the management's attempts to control them were clearly ineffective. One particularly disturbing incident involved a dead rat on our patio. When we reported it, the management did absolutely nothing. It was left to rot, a testament to their complete disregard for tenant health and sanitation.
If you value your peace of mind, your comfort, and more importantly — your Health, steer clear of Harbor Pointe. This is not a place you want to call home. You...
