Costco Wholesale — Local services in Davenport

I love Costco. I started going to the Costco in Coralville, Iowa (near Iowa City) about 3 1/2 years ago in order to get hearing aids at a much cheaper cost than avaliable elsewhere. Now that Costco has opened the Davenport store I've begun going there.

Costco Hearing aids were less than half the cost of those at a my local audiologist, and included free exams, free adjustments to keep everything dialed in as my hearing changed a little over the years, a three year warranty (and they carry some repair parts in stock), free wear parts like filters, cheap batteries, and at the end of my three year warranty they sent my aids in for a free inspection and rejuvenation of any parts that needed it. They also provide services like custom ear molds for a reasonable price.

We have also begun getting our glasses at Costco. Once again, they have great prices and service after the sale. The Davenport store is still looking to hire an Optometrist, but we've been using the Coralville store's excellent Optometrist (Dr. Aria) for the exam (and now actually picking up the glasses at the Davenport store). You could likely bring in a prescription from your favorite optometrist as well.

I've purchased my truck's tires at Costco: there are frequent sales on major brands ( including specials like 4 cent installation for Executive members), and free tire rotations for the life of the tires.

Costco has liberal return policies on electronic items, and doubles the warranty from the manufacturer's usual one year.

All of these things are in addition to an excellent selection and price on major name brands, and a very good line of house brand...

Used to love shopping here, probably spent $20k since they opened, have great selection, but It has went downhill in the last six months. I recently cancelled my membership bc the same people kept harassing me bc I’d bring back the can deposits. 🤷‍♂️That day it was 320 cans, I told them the amount, didn’t believe me. A poor soul, counted them and made sure they sold them. Guess how many they counted…..? 320. As I was cancelling my membership, a lady, in dire need of training, called for security and five employees surrounded my baby and I. 👨‍🍼 I asked them to step at least three feet back, and they got closer. ?????? Which I found funny 😂 bc all five still couldn’t take me 🥷 if this was a bar fight. 🙄Finally a manager came over and couldn’t believe what was happening. She instantly told them to scatter and get back to their duties. She agreed w me 100%. Offered me a $10 gift card. 🥱 I told her this was the fourth and final straw. I wish Sue 👸🏼was working that day, none of this would have occurred. 😢 Glad it was all on camera. 🤗 I contacted the national and regional manager and inquired about their Covid policy on their employees. 🤔I doubt they even respond. I’m tired of being judged by my appearance. I was working that day on a rental and had on some clothes w paint on. No wonder why my minority friends and tenants won’t shop...

My family visited Costco yesterday for the first time ever. We have previously been members of Sam’s Club which was always good to us. My daughter has become a huge Star Wars fan due to the release of the Mandalorian. So she convinced us to go to Costco for the squishmallow baby Yoda. We got signed up and off we went. My daughter went her own way in search of Yoda and my husband and I went off to get groceries. She returned to us with such a defeated attitude. The Yodas were all gone. So we finished our shopping and were checking out, I thought to myself it doesn’t hurt to ask if they have anymore. The women checking us out were so nice and called for assistance. The man they called got on his radio and asked if it could be done. A young man named Kole came to the rescue. He found a box of what looked like unopened squishmallows, way up on a highest shelf. He got is big ladder and to our disappointment the box contained pants😢😢 Kole was so awesome he didn’t give up! He searched isle after isle and found us that baby Yoda. My daughter was elated and was so grateful! So besides the great prices, clean store and lots of variety you have awesome employees!
