Five Below — Local services in Davenport

First of all, if you don’t trust customers not to steal, take out the stupid kiosks and put in a real cashier counter. I hardly shop here anymore because I can’t stand one employee hovering over me, taking items out of my hand, standing on top of me scanning items I can scan myself. Everything is on camera, so it’s pretty ridiculous. People who are stealing aren’t going to the checkout anyway!! My niece and nephew wanted to stop in today. Fine. I had three items—two of which I wanted for collections, so I wanted them handled with care. Nope! The girl started taking things out of my hand and I said “so you’re still having to touch every item?” Yes. I said that was super annoying. I asked her to please not put the breakable keychain on top of the magnet. At that point, she said nothing to me, gave me a dirty look, scanned the keychain and literally threw it onto the counter. She scanned the shirt, tossed it in the bag, and threw the bag up on the counter, too. I said she didn’t need to be rude and throw things. She said “cash or card”. I said card, she pressed the screen and walked away. No apology, no thank you. I find it also ridiculous that they must scan everything, but then they don’t process the actual payment! What logic is this?!?! As we walked out, I stopped and said “you are VERY rude!” She said she had to do it. I said she didn’t need to throw things. She said, “I didn’t.” Again, no apology, no thank you. I got to the car and emailed corporate. I don’t know this girl’s name but she couldn’t care less about the customers or the merchandise. She should be fired!! I won’t be back for a very long...

This is one of the best places to buy everyday items for less than the big box stores. It has all sorts of breat great finds like candies, tech like power cords, and cubes along with earbuds; apparel and toys. No matter what city we've been in, we've always had a good experience.
