Spencer's — Local services in Davenport

Today I went into the North Park Mall in Davenport IA Spencer’s, normally the employees are very welcoming and make me feel very comfortable which is a very important quality to have working at this type of store I feel. However the employee today that was working at around noon made me very uncomfortable. As my friend was at the checkout I saw someone who I would prefer not to run into at this store with the stuff I was buying, as much as I love this person I just prefer to keep some stuff private in my life, which I have every right to do. I whispered to my friend that this person was here as a sign I would like to leave. The person ringing her up loudly stated she could read lips, and was very rude. I assumed she heard what I whispered and took it as I was judging someone for coming there, obviously I was in no place to judge I was shopping there too? In no way was I judging, I simply just didn’t want to run into them, I didn’t appreciate how the employee reacted to a situation she simply had no knowledge of and it really threw me off and made me very uncomfortable. Went in for some jewelry and was immediately told that 1. she couldn't help me at that counter and two I "needed" to buy their cleaner. I said "no I'm okay" to which the lady aggressively insisted on how I needed to get that specific cleaner or else it wouldn't work, and how I would get infections due to other cleaners not working good enough. Once again, I said no and then was asked what cleaner I used and where I got it from, like that should matter?? I felt interrogated and it was really frustrating that I had to say no a good 4 times before I was allowed to check out at the other counter. Really made me not...

Love to go in here fore jewelry and stuff, it's pretty much always a BOGO 50% for their jewelry. Their shirts and other novelty things are pretty funny. A lot of the times when you check out they'll ask if you want to round to the dollar amount to donate to breast cancer research funding. Only a couple things I can really complain about is they always push one of their sales, when you're looking right at the sign; and forget telling people in there about a costume idea if you cosplay, I did that once and got watched the entire time because I had a unique idea for a character that I wanted to do a costume for at...
