I walked in and put my 4ft 5in walking staff at the door to go get some 2 dollar juice.I didn't acknowledge the fat girl working there today at 8:20 pm when greeted as im manic depressive and high recurring anxiety.She then decided since I'm brown an had a small bowling ball bag with me she'd force me to take it off to embarrass me or something racial like that.I walked on to get my juice I barely heard her until the skinny glasses girl both with visible tattoos mind you..(giving those people a horrific reputation)walked up all sassy nasty about it because I'm brown it's ok to treat me like I'm not a person to respect ,customer or not I'm just blk to them an they treated me that way like back in the 50s I gotta acknowledge and say yessah bossa ill shoooowll hope yous having a great day misses heeeres my bag is shoooowll sry I ain't hear yuh on account I'm dumb in the head with illness misses...That's what she implied because I didn't do that dance.The skinny one cursed me out while I was in line about to buy the juice and leave ,while the fat girl was smiling enjoying the whole negativity of the situation..Mind you ive come to many DG and THIS ONE TOO ive never not once had to remove my bag and there are no signs indicating it as policy it was discrimination an bitterness.The fat girl starts to ring it up still dragging it on talking im just trying to go so I say I don't want to talk about it I think it's racial an I don't want to go there SHE CURSES ME OUT LIKE A RANDOM PERSON ON THE STREET SHE KNOWS AND HATES NOT A CUSTOMER AT ALL WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL PEOPLE DID YOU HIRE HERE IM CERTAIN they been to prison the fat girl threatened to get me arrested if I recorded when I took a photo of the DM number ,and ahe took my juice and walked away. TWO CAUCASIAN GIRLS BOUGHT THE SECOND JUICE FOR ME BECAUSE I WENT BACK AND GOT ANOTHER TO BUY - an wait for police- THEY GOT IT FOR ME IT WAS SO NASTY AND HORRIBLE TO THEM TOO. IM HANDICAPPED DISABLED MANIC DEPRESSION AND SEVERE ANXIETY TRYING TO DEFEND MYSELF BUYING JUICE FROM THESE EVIL WOMEN...

On May 20, 2023, while on vacation, my 10 yr old son and I visited this store in the early afternoon. I had a purse with a wallet, like I ALWAYS have when shopping. My son and I browsed the aisles and checked out without incident. I noticed two white females working, and one white male. Later on this same day at approximately 6pm, I returned to the store with my husband and two children. Upon entering, a black female behind the counter told me I had to leave my purse, and wallet full of cash and credit cards in her possession. I asked her why I would do such a thing? Who would leave all their cash and credit cards in the hands of a stranger? She provided little explanation other than saying that I HAD to comply. I advised her that I was in the store earlier, and at no point did any other worker tell me that I had to hand them (some stranger) my cash and credit cards. The conversation escalated and I repeatedly asked for a manager. The black female said she was doing her job, and following store policy. The woman told me I needed to leave the store. I asked where that policy information, prohibiting purses and wallets was posted. She had no answer. Finally, a white woman came to the front of the store as if she were going to physically fight me (I'm 8 months pregnant). She didn't identify herself as a manager, so I'm not sure who she was. Dollar General Corporate - My lawyer is going to have a field day with this incident.

Online states, "Dollar General strives to provide customers a respectful, welcoming and pleasant shopping experience with friendly customer service. Dollar General customers are not prohibited from bringing purses of any particular size into our stores, and no store is authorized to implement such a policy."

DG corporate - I hope you have a great legal team, because I will not let this go, and I have the means to pursue...

Absolutely the worse DG experience thus far. I shop at DG all the time at various locations, and have never been rudely turned away, 15 minutes prior to closing time. I'm pretty sure the heavy set male who refused to provide me his name, was a manager. Instead he taunted us from inside the store after manually closing the doors. I told him that the store hours posted on the door said they closed at 9 pm and that we still had 15 minutes. He said "nope, gotta get all these people out by 9." That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. My boyfriend and I needed 1 item, knew exactly where it was, and would have been out of the store well before 9 pm. If you are going to make up your own hours of operation, then don't post them, both online and on the very door you shut in our faces. From what I have read in other reviews, there appears to be a general consensus that this manager clearly has horrible customer service skills, and hates his job. I might also mention his appearance and general hygiene left little to be desired...it looked as though he hadn't bathed in weeks. Certainly matched his disgusting attitude. If you hate your job so much, find something else to do to earn money, where you're not making someone's experience of spending their hard earned money, such a negative...
