We took our trip as a commemorative to my dad who passed a year ago, he loved being out on the water so I wanted a change of scenery and decided to go to Florida, my first time ever being there. When we arrived I walked I to the office and the owner was standing right behind the desk. SO polite, gave me all of the local places to eat and places to be while your there . Check in was a breeze and our room was great! Just two of us so we had the last room at the top and the view was amazing. The housekeepers we're so nice and accommodating , the bed had a protector cover over them which made me feel better about sleeping there seeing as though alot of hotels get infested with bugs, I DISNT SEE ONE BUG IN OUR ROOM. I clean houses and own my own business so before we brought our items in for our safety we checked the bed and sheets etc.) Thoroughly and they smelled clean as can be they we're white no yellow stains like other places... They give you some amme ities for the kitchen area which was LIFE SAVING because we forget some thing to cook with but they had it for us in the room waiting... All around clean as can be. The owner took care of an incident when someone got sick on the pool deck , right away he was out there cleaning up and sanitiziteveryrhing on the deck, cleaned the whole pool it was VERY nice to see how wonderful the place looked everyday because they take such good care!!. The rest room outside attached to the building is also clean as can be!, I give so much thanks to the owner and staff for our stay. Unfortunately I did not get the managers name but it looked like she was just learning the swing of things and she is doing great, Everytime she seen me coming up the stairs she held the door, she was always polite I will be back to stay and I cannot wait. Thank you for making this trip THAT MUCH MORE SPECIAL AND STRESS FREE. I can also say we seen pest control there when people left Everytime it seemed, so I'm assuming that was for maintenance to ensure they didn't bring anything there, theey also had a pool guy who I seen just about every day cleaning the pool thoroughly, housekeepers as usual doing a...
Read moreStayed here several times with nothing but great reviews until this time. Be wary of room 204. The shower diverter is corroded and my family could not shower due to very little water coming out of the shower head and the rest coming out of the tub. Not only that, but the little water that did come out was either way too hot or way too cold. I almost scalded my newborn due to this when I attempted to use the shower. I asked to be switched to a different room at 445 pm, but hotel was booked. Carmen at front desk told me twice I would be refunded which I never asked for.... just wanted a discount. At 9pm when she brought maintenance up to replace the shower head????? Which obviously didn't solve the issue, she lied to my face and said she never said that. The maintenance worker said there was nothing else he could do without demoing the whole wall. I was told there was no managers at the hotel. I was then told to call back the next day by the maintenance man who was the acting general manager on Sunday morning. Carmen said the shower worked just fine, lied again. I asked for the general managers email. She said he had no email address and refused to tell me his real name, she then hung up on me. I've spent 15 years in hotel management and this is the worst service and run around I've ever seen. If you have any issues you can find Micky Pedersen, the general manager of the Flamingo Inns phone number on the Florida department of revenue. He has several open permits through the city so it's a really easy find. Update: it's been 5 days since leaving Micky a voicemail and he still hasn't returned my call. Imagine that, a 47 year old man who is too scared to address his guests complaints. Note to Micky... protocol as a GM calls for you to return calls within 48 hours, but obviously you don't know anything about...
Read moreBooked through priceline for 2 adults and 2 children. PROS: Room was very attractive. Good amount of space. Included a stove with two burners, sink, 2-cup coffee pot, microwave and full size refrigerator. Nice dark wood cabinets and countertops that "looked" like granite. Also included a small table for eating meals. Also included another table outside our room in a patio area that included 3 more chairs. Packets of coffee with filters are available at the office. Beds were comfortable and did not wake up with any back pain. Room was only a few steps to the pool. Pool area was small but very nice in appearance with rocks and plants. You will pay for your hotel mid-way through your stay so there is no formal "check out" on check out morning. You just drop your key in the key drop box. Beach access was only a couple of more steps. Very good hotel for kids or anyone who has trouble walking. I have never been into the pool or on the beach with so few steps before at any other location.
CONS: There are only 22 parking spaces for about 30 rooms. 2 are only big enough for a motorcycle. Office closes at 9PM so you need to call to have a lockbox put on your room door if arriving at 9PM or later. Rooms are only for "2" people even if you think you paid for kids or guests on orbitz, priceline, expedia, etc.. Staff prefers to make a dollar today and does not understand "customer service 101" or that the "the customer is always right". Upon arrival we were told we only booked for 2 adults and would need to pay $72 extra for the 2 children (to share the same 2 beds with us). We argued and they were going to let us cancel and have an unpaid empty room rather than be honest with the pricing.
Despite the bad customer service and small parking lot, the location, pool and room were so nice the hotel still...
