After years and years of shopping at this Kroger I was tired of the lack of care by the employees as well as the dirty floors and shelves, as well as the items that were past expiration dates. As I checked out that day (several months ago) I mentioned my concerns to the woman who was checking me out and she asked me to give it a little time, that changes were being made and I would see the difference. So after shopping at Meijer and Walmart the past few months I decided to give Kroger Dearborn Heights another try. Before I got into the store I see the entire parking lot is roped off. So I drive down an open lane and find when I get to the BACK of store and I have to turn around in the back and find my way to the OTHER side of the lot. A simple SIGN would have saved me that trouble! So this evening I remember I had 2 candles on the belt and I don't have them. I grab my receipt and everything except the candles are on it. I am happy I wasn't charged for them but I call customer service anyway because I cannot understand how they didn't get scanned and added to my purchases. Apparently they are too lazy to wrap the candles in tissue paper so they just simply take them off my purchases. The woman I just spoke to said well maybe they got stuck on the belt. I said Nooo... They were in the middle of the items. She says well I don't know because I wasn't here, at least you weren't charged for them! Really? So you don't care then? Like I want to drive back up there tomorrow? All she had to say was I'm sorry that happened because that's what good customer service used to be. But God forbid she apologizes! Because what I've noticed these past few years is that there's no such thing as good customer service anymore! It's frustrating and aggravating! So good-bye Kroger! I'm...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLooking for some red wine vinegar, I asked three cashiers and all of them pointed me to a sheet of paper taped to the ends of the aisle of each aisle. I went to customer service to ask for manager, Mr. Tim is the manager on duty and explained they were remodeling, he said " well that's obvious: and I said actually it's not, I just walked in the store and had no idea it was being remodeled. He said right but if you walk around you would notice, ( why would I walk around when I'm looking for one specific item). I said maybe your cashiers should tell customers they are remodeling the store so things are being moved around so that customers like me don't assume none of your staff know where the products are. He said he already ask alot from them and wouldn't request that they tell customers that ask were specific items are that the store is being remodeled. When I explained I had eye work recently and couldn't read such small print he referred me to the pharmacy š«¢, it's kind of filunny because the guy working in the pharmacy looked it right up and sent me to the right aisle! Literally took him five seconds to find it, he said " oh it's in aisle 4 with the baking goods, it has not been moved" he was kind and helpful. I won't be back to this location, tim also said he was only here until remodeling was completed then he was going back to his store...... I won't be back to any store he works at, if I see him I'm taking my business elsewhere. Never felt so unvalued, yea this ruined my shopping experience for the day! The staff needs remodeling as well in my opinion. Based off what time said to me customer service is not important...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis Kroger has a huge flaw that many overlook, the self-checkout lanes. Now even though I do agree it takes away jobs that is however not the reason I am rating this one-star. The self-checkout lanes are highly ineffective and also very annoying. First, the machine freezes up and says "Contacting assistance" for reasons that are completely ignorant. I was there checking out my food like normal where the computer froze up and made me wait over 10-minutes for the manager to walk over, asked me what I needed; I said nothing, and it just did that, she then proceeded to enter a code and walk away. I waited for nothing; these self-checkout lanes are supposed to be quicker. Also doing my labor and bagging my food is insane, many people would call me lazy or entitled, however, in reality, we pay more money than what the groceries are worth, so we can have an outlet that does all the work for us, and in return we pay extra which funds the labor/rent etc. If Krogers is buying milk per gallon for $1 while reselling it for $3, that is acceptable since I am having it processed and sent to an outlet near me whom also contains and keep the milk cold until I purchase it. I'm paying extra money for the service such as bagging, checking my food out, keeping my food cold, however, these machines the big million dollar company to save more money. It use to be simple where the self-checkout machines where only really the primary source of checkout late at night, however, now I'll go into Krogers at 6pm, and there will be no lanes...
