I am very hesitant about shopping with GameStop. I can now see why all of my friends no longer shop here.
This particular location sold me a (new) Power A- XBOX One controller that broke in about 8 days. They told me the return policy is only 2 weeks OR I can BUY a warrantee for 1 year for 7$. That feels like a scam to me, shouldn't they guarantee the product for at least 30 days, like any other electronics store?
I returned 2 weeks later. They told me they no longer allow the cash-back return on controllers, and that the policy had been changed in the last 2 weeks. This felt like a last-ditch lie. The manager agreed to return it anyway.
I no longer had the box. I had the bag, the controller, and the receipt. The box was flimsy and split down the middle-front as I opened it. The manager said it was no longer salable without the box (implying they were going to sell it to someone else instead of send it back to the manufacturer) but in his good grace, he would return it anyway.
I politely told them I would look at other controllers after the return. This was a mistake. The same sleazy salesmen who sold me the controller had to be told SIX TIMES that I wanted the money back before buying something else. It was very uncomfortable. He wanted the exchange SO BAD vs a return.
What do you have to gain? You don't own this store. This isn't your problem. Ideally no one could hold you accountable. Is your loyalty to GameStop so severe? To what end and why? it's both sad and honestly confounding.
I own my own company and am so glad that none of my salesmen act this way.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis GameStop is the HOLY GRAIL of the laziest, most rude, most Irritating, useless workers ever. The store is cleaner and nicer than it was before by a long shot. I personally like this company and its services BUT the workers here are always lazy and never give you the service or help that you deserve and are the reason GameStop is on a decline! I was asking the guy some important questions about the service he was providing me And he would barely answer the questions correctly and mumble things under his breath at me. Last time I asked one of them a question and he answered with āI donāt know I only work here.ā I swear people complain about working in GameStop Like itās some kind of hard job. GameStop is NOT a hard job by no means youāre sitting in a small store with AC, or heat selling people games, services, and freakin toys. The store is always small compared to other retailers like Best Buy or Walmart. You are working in retail at the end of the day youāre gonna deal with all kinds of people who will ruin your mood or days, rude or sometimes good, There are always going to be bad coworkers, bad management, and other problems anywhere you work whether that be GameStop, Best Buy, the medical field, warehouse, anywhere else that involves human interaction. But thereās never a need to be rude to customers who are the reason you are employed. Bad service effects everyone. GameStop, if you want your business to actually improve you need to FIRE these LAZY workers then hire people who actually do their work! NOT lazy nerds. Iām not gonna be one of those guys, Who says āIāM NEVER COMING BACK TO GAMESTOP AGAIN!ā The GameStop in Allen park is great, so Iāll be going there. You know why itās great!? Because the workers...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolutely deplorable customer service. The employee treats the customers like thieves and claims their actions are due to the company policies. I understand to some degree, but there is a better way to express and inact policies. You could tell the employee had a major disposition and only cared about the ease of service for themselves, and did not desire to take the concerns of the customer into consideration or how they may feel about what they are purchasing simply because they have no value or interest in their own products boxes, damages, and outer appearance. The employee deliberately ignores the phone too. These are the type of interactions that make you leave everything you want to buy behind, even if you would really...
