I am not sure what happened with this restaurant but it used to be decent service. We called and reserved a table and placed the food order. When we got to the location, found out that the location is closed and had moved, no one on the phone mentioned. Got to the new location and found out the name of the restaurant has also changed 😤. Us and a few others who went to the closed location were circling the lot for a bit to find the restaurant before figuring out of the name change.

After that the order we got served was wrong. We took a platter for 4 as is and asked the restaurant to fix the remaining order (which should have been for 2 heads). That correction took so long that we just requested that to be takeout. This I could understand the fresh food takes time. Unfortunately we started with a bad start and this just piled on😞

Got to the bill, we found out that they are charging us food for 8. When asked why, they said they thought we could eat for 8 so they upsized it 😐 … without asking. We could barely finish the food for 4 and were packing the remaining. We got them to correct that.

Cherry on top, when the bill was getting printed, it showed that we got 2 house salads which we did not even see on our table while other tables did have salad. When asked, cashier (maybe owner) said that is because the salad is complementary so we don’t have to serve that 🤦

The staff was nice and were trying to work hard but wish they were more organized and prepared to have customers.

Food was great. I didn’t get to try what I wanted (cuz of the wrong order) but what they served us was great.

I wish there comes a time I have to rewrite this review for...

While on vacation in Michigan my family and I tried Mendi House Restaurant and honestly it was so good. Their bread was super soft with the perfect crispy corners I loved that texture. The rice was amazing and everything just went so well together. The Fahsa tuna was honestly one of my favorites it tasted just like something I’d eat in Yemen. The Sahawig was spicy which we loved.

We also had the salmon which was good and the haneeth was really tasty with a big portion. The chicken was so tender and full of flavor. Honestly everything was great Allāhhumabarik. If you’re looking for authentic Yemeni flavors this place is definitely...

I recently had the misfortune of dining at this restaurant, and I can honestly say it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. The food was absolutely terrible—overcooked, bland, and clearly not made with any care. It felt like they just slapped it together without any thought. To make matters worse, the service was horrendous. The staff was rude and inattentive, making us feel like we were an inconvenience rather than valued customers. It took forever to get our orders, and when we finally did, it was wrong. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Save your time and money; there are plenty of better...

I was a regular at their previous location, and I’m happy to say that Mendi House remains one of the few places I trust for authentic Yemeni food. The staff is always professional, welcoming, and treats us like family. The restaurant is exceptionally clean and provides a peaceful dining experience, making it a comfortable place to enjoy a great meal. I always leave knowing I’ve had quality food made with care. Highly recommend! Oh and their Masooba is really good.
