My family and I spend a lot of time and money in Kroger. This used to be a great Kroger, and I can only assume management has changed in the past year because it has gone downhill.
It's really the little things that all add up to a shopping experience I've started to dread having to make.
18 out of my last 20 trips there, at least one item (usually more) doesn't ring up the correct price, or at least what's listed on the shelf. So I'll stand there in self checkout for four extra minutes each time, disputing charges with an employee who honestly doesn't care. Bad when you have to walk around the store taking photos of prices. Maybe this is a deterrent to move people away from the store and stick with pickup and delivery, as the app is never wrong.
The produce section is the worst I've seen. There is always something rotten, somewhere.
The Kroger we frequent in Huntsville, or Atlanta when visiting family- great job at maintaining soon to expire produce and sticking on the small clearance bin in netted orange bags for 99 cents. Whoever does that at this store has no clue what is going on. For instance, they will throw avocados in one of those bags, usually 5 for $1. That's cool and all, except this person clearly doesn't eat avocados because the ones they put in the clearance bag need to be put in the trash. Always rotten to the touch.
Or they'll do other odd things like throw three old loose potatoes in a clearance bag for 99 cents, when a 5lb bag is $3. So do the math, maybe 1/2 a pound of old potatoes for $1 or 5lb fresh potatoes for $3. Who would do that? So guess what, they sit there and rot.
Either do your job correctly, or get rid of the produce clearance bin. It's a waste of time and resources to even have someone putting rotten avocados in...
Read moreThis is very discriminatory. Today around 11:15am I walk up to the customer service desk for a money order. There is a man & a woman in front of me, both of Spanish decent. As the man finishes his business at the customer service desk the woman behind him approached the desk. At this time there is an elderly gray haired African American woman that is working the customer service desk. When the spanish woman approaches the desk she starts to speak Spanish and the black lady says, "I do not understand that" so the man turns around and starts to converse with her in Spanish to assist her. (He is not an employee) As they are conversing the black lady at the desk looks to me, and asks if I need anything. I tell her what I need a money order. While she is helping me the man and woman are talking in Spanish. I'm assuming that the lady doesn't speak English well enough. So the man was translating. As the customer service lady hands me the order she whispersto me, "I hate when they do that." I said "do what?" She then looks at the man & the woman who are speaking Spanish. I reply with, "Well what's the problem? He's helping her." Her response was, "I just wish they wouldn't speak like that. I hate it." I was very shocked and disgusted with her. I left immediately. If this is how your employees look at other people who do not speak English well then this is a major issue. I will not be returning to this location as I do not wish to see that lady again. Very disappointing...
Read moreIt’s 6:13 am on Saturday morning and people can’t get in. The doors are locked. Employees are showing up after 6:00 am. The store is supposed to be open at 6:00 am. There is an employee outside taking a break doing nothing about letting people in. Unbelievable. There are senior citizens out here waiting. We don’t come down here at 6:00 am to be neglected - this store needs some better management.
Finally at 6:19 am, the girl who came in late opens the door for people.
Going downhill. There are a core of great employees there but overall, the store is on a slippery slope. The meat department stinks like rotten meat and seafood. Many times it has been empty so they could have done a deep cleaning but it hasn’t happened. The produce is kept on the shelves until it’s rotten and useless. I have had to call the store while standing at the deli several times to get a clerk out to help customers.
Someone needs to get in that store and clean things up physically and with some of the staff who are slovenly or like to talk more than work.
Maybe the whole crew needs a field trip to the Madison location to see how a Kroger should look and operate.
I shop at the Decatur location regularly and have for the last 5 years. It’s very disappointing to see the...
