Blonde haired, loss prevention girl Mia Clemons was one of the most vile, power tripping, and cruel people I have ever ran across. I was taken in to the side of the store and accosted because a pair of shoelaces I forgot about had gotten covered up with sodas and the baby seat flip up/down device. I forgot about it and it would have ended up in the parking lot still in the buggy. Over $80 spent, but I stole $2 shoestrings because " I get a high off of stealing" according to her. Which I have never done in my life. She then proceeded to belittle me and my wife and was one of the most rude, non listening individuals I have ever come across in retail. All over a accident that she refused to accept even after referring to the laces as a "stupid little things". I have always enjoyed target and have spent much money there. Most of the employees have always been excellent and helpful (other than not ever opening more than 1 or 2 registers with 9 to 10 ppl waiting to check out, but that just may be the Decatur store.) but the way I was treated today by some power drunk, condecending hack of a loss prevention employee, makes me look at the whole company in a bad light. I was under the impression they were the good choice as far as big box stores, but this person accusing me of things and ruining my whole day and probably days to come is unforgivable. I have lived my life to be true, honest, and most of all good, as in a good person. This woman's belittling and accusations have torn me up. The police officer even recognized me from when I was a detention officer. I even went to the store in a baby purple beret because my wife thought it was funny. WHY would I steal anything dressed goofy on top of that. Just a depressing situation to be pulled to the side for something you have no clue as to, and then belittled and threatened "I can have you sent to jail right now" repeatedly, specially when I was overly nice to her, because as far as I knew it was all an accident that needed to be taken care of. Horrible things. So now we are legally banned from the whole shopping center for 2 years over a pair of shoelaces and Ms. Clemons lack of decency. Yet we weren't arrested for some...
Read moreMy husband and I have been going to this Target since it opened. Today, he accidentally forgot to pay for a pair of shoelaces, and our total of food and essentials was about $70. A woman pulled us aside and into a room, put us on a bench with handcuffs hanging on the sides, and asked if my husband had taken anything. He said no. She and another woman kept us in a security office. They said they had it on camera that my husband took a 2 dollar pair of shoelaces and hid them under the flap in the top part of the buggy. "Concealing" they called it. I said he wouldn't do that, just look at all he bought.
I understand that companies have to protect from theft, but the main woman who accosted us was rude and degrading. She was thrilled to say how she could easily send us to jail for this, but she wasn't going to. She said this a few times for what seemed like no reason. I was angry, but my husband was nice and cooperative as always.
Now, we have a trespass rule where we can't even enter the whole shopping center for two years or we will be arrested. What kind of justice is this?
The irksome thing is how we were treated even though we explained what happened. This woman said he still might have been stealing them because, "Some people get high from that."
If you look carefully at the top basket of a Target shopping cart, the flap opens down and is tilted down. My husband had forgotten the shoelaces were there and they would have ended up in the cart in the parking lot, forgotten. That's if they didn't slide out from under the flap. Any thief would know not to stick something "concealed" under that flap because it would most likely fall out.
I am completely disappointed in this woman's treatment of my husband as a criminal when he was nothing but cordial and compliant.
I do not recommend using this store for anything anymore. The customer service in a simple and obvious misunderstanding...
Read moreI placed an order for a iPad Pro online, they said they had two in stock, thirty minutes before picking it up they canceled it. Went in store to check if they had it and the items in the back had been marked incorrectly and they did not have it. The money had already been removed out of my account for the item. Customer service said it was “on hold or pending” that we should get it back in a couple hours. Never received it back, called target customer service number, they are saying 5-7 days. Very disappointed, this was a gift for someone, can not go somewhere else to purchase the item because target is holding my money that I was going to use to purchase it with. Most likely never purchase through them...
