I booked this studio for the first time through class pass. I arrived 8 minutes late due to being pulled over on my way to the studio. When I arrived the door was locked, and there was a sign asking late comers not to knock. I waited to see if the instructor would notice me, waving my hands, etc.I called the phone number. They don't answer their phone, it's messages only. I eventually knocked on the door. Finally she sees me...and gives me a brief nod then nothing. Now, I understand that it's not polite to be late. I understand that we don't want to interrupt the flow. But when I stayed until the class was over to express that I felt that it was unkind of her to ignore me and that the fact that late comers are not allowed in is not readily available information, my complaints were essentially dismissed because it's policy. My intent of this review is not really to disparage the instructor, but to plead with the business itself to reconsider this policy and to warn other visitors that may be arriving late for an unexpected reason. I understand that we don't want to interrupt the flow and that "we must be considerate of others." In a perfect world no one would ever be late...unfortunately in the real world people are late for all sorts of reasons and a little grace would be much...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI LOVE The Yoga Hive! Lori & Rebeccaās philosophy of yoga for everyBODY really encourages you to be in tune with your own body and with what you are able to do in any given class. For any given pose, variations are offered which allow you to challenge yourself or if youāre not feeling like a challenge and/or just need/want a more restful practice, that is completely encouraged as well (āthere is always childās poseā). Beyond the physical practice of poses, the teachers weave into their instruction mini-meditations on life, living, and being with ourselves and others.
Lori is the yoga teacher who I have returned to over and over again for 15 years, and I have practiced with Rebecca when she was teaching at another studio in Atlanta. I love what they have co-created with The Yoga Hive, which feels like home, community, and a caring and encouraging space. And did I mention that the space is beautiful?!? š

The Yoga Hive has really done and excellent job of making the studio feel extra safe during this crazy time. Lori and Rebecca are amazing teachers, and they have created a range of classes that are inclusive of all levels. I also love how the main philosophy behind this studio is teaching yoga as a true spiritual practice. Yes, you will get the physical benefits from stretching and exercise, but the real goal is to calm the mind and reap all of the many health and mental benefits of quieting the mind and moving the body in a way that releases anxiety and negative energy. I always feel like a completely different person when the session is over! Everything I was previously worried about just washes away. . .and my stiff back feels better...
