ALERT: surprises on your bill and indifference to your objection.
Went to have a stitch removed from a small mole biopsy at a dermatologist up north but ended up being billed for a mental health exam instead. Not disclosed up front, not asked for and not done!!
They refuse to correct my bill and are requiring me to pay an additional amount of money for something that wasn't done and wasn't necessary!
I had just had a full physical at a big name medical provider up north and was on my way back home when it was time to have the stitch removed. Fast pace called me and wrote to me knowing all they needed to do was remove a stitch from a tiny spot. Said my copay was $25 and it absolutely was per my insurance.
We are elderly and feel this is elder financial abuse. Fast pace says the insurance rules allow them to do this billing for things they have not disclosed up front, for things you did not know you would be billed for and things unnecessary. Beware if you think you are going in for one thing you will come out being billed for a mental health exam. What happened to patient rights, the right to have everything and its price disclosed up front. Why must I purchase something undisclosed and unnecessary because a greedy group of investors needed more money.
After I called the Winchester/Decherd office about the surprise charge the lady said they will give you a form with your required paperwork that asks how you feel on that day. BE AWARE, If you answer that question when you give back the papers you, the patient, will be billed for answering the question.
She said the law and insurance allows Fast Pace Holdings, a group of rich investors in need of higher profits for themselves, to slip this charge through without up front disclosure to a patient and without your knowledge but you are required to pay the fee or be sent to collections!!
Tennessee Attorney General: where are you?? Stop investor groups from doing this to elderly, or to anyone. No billing me or anyone for anything not discolsed ahead of time. I was told I would only be billed my copay and nothing else. They lied and knew they were being sneaky. The parent company is in Brentwood Tn and had not returned any of my 3 messages left for 3 different company officers.
UPDATE: Fast Pace finally called me, they listened, they fixed the issue. Thank...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went in yesterday after having tested positive for influenza a about two and a half weeks ago at the same place. I had to update my address again? They've got three different photos or copies of my insurance card now. There was no reference to the fact that they treated me at all two weeks ago, apparently not relevant at all. The MA treated me like I was stupid and I could hear her and the NPC talking about me like I'm difficult when they refuse to listen to any medical history. I hated this visit, I had a fever of 102.9 when I got there, headache from hell and I feel like most people would benefit from going down the road a few minutes to the next brand of urgent care, this was AWFUL. I don't feel like i could go back here and get dignified care for a blister based on my interactions yesterday, i felt intensely and genuinely disliked. This was insane. Anyway, final diagnosis was influenza b!
Edited to add: you don't have to wonder what anyone here thinks of you while you're in the room, they'll make...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI walked in and was immediately kindly greeted by the front desk clerk. She took my documents, performed some clerical duties, and kindly advised me to take a seat. And she advised me not hat the technician would be summoning me shortly. There were three people in front of me. It took a short 10- 15 minutes before the technician called out for me. The technician guided me to the back were sat me down and advised me of all of what was about to happen. She then asked me did I have any questions? We conducted the visit where she advised me if the post appointment actions. And asked again did I have any questions? She directed me to the exit where upon exiting, the front desk clerk advised me to have a wonderful day. This is particularly refreshing to me, relocating here from a northeastern state. I left actually feeling that I have been served in a professional and caring way. I thank Fast Pace Health for the wonderful service they...
