As a chef who’s worked in kitchens for years, I’m always a little skeptical when a new restaurant opens, especially when it’s during the frenzy of a first week. However, my recent visit to Osaka Steakhouse completely exceeded all expectations. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was impressed not only by the lively, welcoming atmosphere but also by the quality of food and service provided in an area truly short of great restaurants.

To start the dining experience we ordered appetizers that found their way to our table rather quickly and fresh. The fried gyoza had a perfectly crisped exterior, with a tender, flavorful filling that didn’t overwhelm the palate. The balance of pork and vegetables was just right, and the dumpling sauce was the ideal tangy complement. The takoyaki, often hit or miss at many places, was on point—each ball was soft and gooey on the inside, with generous chunks of octopus and a wonderfully smoky, savory flavor that made me immediately appreciate the care they put into their recipes. I could taste the attention to detail in every bite.

Moving on to the main courses, I was particularly impressed with the hibachi preparations. The salmon hibachi was cooked to absolute perfection—flaky and tender, with a slightly crispy crust that still maintained moisture throughout. It was clear that the fish was fresh and treated with respect, and the smoky char from the grill added an extra layer of complexity to the dish. The chicken hibachi, while a simpler dish, was equally well-executed. The chicken was juicy and tender, and the seasoning was just enough to enhance the natural flavors without overpowering them. Both dishes came with perfectly grilled vegetables and a side of rice that was light, fluffy, and not overly greasy.

One of the most pleasant surprises of the night, however, was the service. The staff was attentive and professional, but not overbearing, which is a fine line to walk, especially when a restaurant is still in its opening week. The chefs at the hibachi grill were engaging and clearly skilled, performing with precision and flair, while the front-of-house team made sure everything flowed smoothly without a hitch.

Overall, Osaka Steakhouse has definitely set the bar high for the surrounding area. The quality of the food was exceptional, and the care put into each dish—from the appetizers to the hibachi mains—was evident. As a chef, it’s exciting to see a new restaurant that truly respects the craft of cooking, and I’m looking forward to seeing how they grow. If their opening week is any indication, this spot is sure to become a local favorite that offers quite a service to the Winchester/Decherd area that was...

This was their 2nd day of opening the restaurant. There were tons of reservations arriving all at once. Me and my wife understood the craziness behind the counter of how the place was running. There were some mistakes here and there, but it was completely understandable with how hectic things were at the time.

The atmosphere was very soothing. Many people had fun with the hibachi performances the chefs brought out.

Now the food. The best hibachi that I've ever had. I got the calamari and shrimp. That was absolutely amazing! That's just the beginning! Listen here, my precious people on here. The sushi was fantastic! I got the giant eel roll. It's a $20 roll. More of your higher end quality rolls. The eel meat was very good. An actual fillet of eel was on the rolls, as you can see. They used dry ice underneath the plate with holes to give off a foggy effect to the meal. I had ALOT of eyes on me. Had a group of people asking for pictures. It was wild! My wife got the crazy crab roll. She wasn't really able to touch her sushi at all, just because it kind of arrived later than expected. She filled up on the hibachi before trying the sushi. I would imagine it being delicious as well.

I'll be going back with co-workers next Friday to brag about this place! Oh! I've got every page of their menu in my photos as well....

I wanted to take the time to write this concerning Osaka Steakhouse & Sushi - Winchester . Our party said we would write a review and I wanted to honor that. I was with a party of 9 and we came in to eat hibachi. Our server and master of the grill was funny and very friendly. 6 out of 9 of us ordered hibachi. Food came out fast but it was overly salted, so it wasn't edible or enjoyable. ✨ However, the manager was humble and amazing! He corrected it immediately and made sure his team replaced our rice and discounted our tickets. Most probably wouldn't post something that didn't turned out well, but I wanted to, to show future and current customers that things happen and for me customer service is everything! And they showed it without hesitation! There good was amazing the other two times we went and I believe it will continue. To the manager- it will not be our last time! Your customer service alone still deserves my 5 ⭐ rating and without hesitation we will be back! Thank you for making it right when so many...

I’m a little biased. This is my favorite restaurant in Winchester Tennessee. I love all the girls that work there the gentleman that owns it family is a wonderful delight to be around. I have learned a lot about Japanese Chinese culture. I eat there every day so you will find me in the restaurant late in the afternoon around four or at closing time close to eight or nine I’m trying to try every dish on the menu and the family and staff are helping me with this goal. I’m also a photographer so you see the pretty dishes and pictures of the dishes that I have taken please comment and come by enjoying our little family. We would love to have you. I have kind of inserted myself in their family. I’m a regular at the restaurant. The ambience at the restaurant is just out of this world. It’s very peaceful harmony and joyful. Everyone that comes has fun and leaves happy along with their belly being happy as well. You can’t go wrong at this restaurant. I cannot stress enough how elegant the food looks as well as it taste
