Two weeks ago my S22 Ultra was having a battery going bad and swelling. I called Techy Deerfield Beach and they said it could be replaced and the price was reasonable. Family member took it there the next day and dropped it off while shopping at Publix. Went back about an hour later and picked it up. When I got home later I noticed the rear cover of the phone was loose and coming off, like the adhesive wasn't holding it down. Brought it back the following day to be fixed but still was having issue when picked up. I called back later and was told that there was nothing more they could do and I'd have to take it to a Samsung Repair center since they have stronger adhesive. I looked around and the only Samsung authorized center is UBREAKIFIX. Took it there the next day and within just a few minutes they had it opened up and showed us that the battery that was put in was damaged on the bottom edge and was pushing up on the cover. They took it out and showed me their new battery and I could see the difference. Once they put the new one in and put the back cover on, it was flat. So they did the full battery install, sealed the back with new adhesive and a heat press for 10 minutes. UBREAKIFIX was also professional enough to discount their price about $25 to match what Techy charged. I then tried to contact Techy by email for 5 days and never got a reply so had to call their main number and was told to email them directly and to go back to the store. We gave the local store the battery back they installed and they did issue a refund, but refused to admit there was a problem with the battery. Even though it is visible in the pictures. Any future phone repairs that I need, I will take it to UBREAKIFIX.
*UPDATE 5/23/25: Techy replied back to my review saying they do not install and use Samsung batteries. When my family member was there the first time she asked to see what they were going to install and they showed a box of Ampsentrix battery, but the box had already been opened and inside of it was a Samsung battery (she took a picture which I have in this review). That is what they used to put in my phone. Later that day when I saw the back cover coming off, the phone was taken back the following day and they said they would seal it again. We asked about a stronger adhesive and was told they do not have it, that only a Samsung repair center has the stronger adhesive. Even after their 2nd attempt to fix it and still had the issue with the back cover, I called and was told by Max "there is nothing more we can do". So I had no choice but to take it to a different store.
The manager at UBREAKIFIX Pompano Beach opened it up while I watched and inside of the phone was the Samsung battery that Techy had pulled out of the Ampsentrix box. After the battery was disconnected and removed they showed us the damage on the bottom edge of the battery, which was causing the back cover from laying flat. They installed a fresh Samsung battery and got it fixed, and gave us back the damaged Samsung battery that Techy installed earlier that week. I looked on the Techy web site and the only email address listed was info@techycompany.com I emailed it over a 4 day period and never got a reply, so I called the number that was on the web site and was connected to Terry at the Ft Lauderdale Texhy location. I sent him the email and pictures and he said he would contact the Deerfield store. When we went back, gave them the battery and was issues the credit.
If a brand new Ampsentrix would have been installed at Techy from the begining, chances are there would not of had this problem. But with the damaged Samsung battery in there, they should of saw the problem, and swapped the battery for another one, but didn't.
In the reply from Techy they are unfortunately being completely dishonest in what they are saying....that this Samsung battery didn't come from them...even though we took picture of it right there in the store that was removed out of an Ampsentrix box before it...
Read moreFirst time using this company brought in an iPad Pro with an intermittent charging issue. That was the only issue I had they physically changed out the charging port and the iPad Pro was returned to me with three new issues. The iPad facial recognition stopped working the iPad would charge but at a very slow rate, it would take about 12 hours to get a full charge And if the iPad was left in standby mode, it would lose 10% of its battery power per hour which basically that would run out of power if it was left in standby mode overnight you’d open it up and it have zero or 2% battery remaining no complaint on the effort they’ve had it for several weeks and kept trying to fix it replacing batteries, etc. but without success and so I paid $130 for them to do the original repair And it was returned to me an iPad that now has three new issues basically making the iPad very difficult to use because I can no longer open it with my face have to punch in a key code every time it also affects passwords that need to be used by facial recognition and now we have to be Passcode in. So if you have an iPad Pro, I would not bring it to these people as nice as they were. They were not successful and now my $1500 iPad is basically useless. They refuse to refund the $130 even though they damaged my iPad be very careful with these guys because you could end up with a more broken item and they just hand it back to you and say sorry we weren’t able to repair it.
I am now searching for another repair center to see if I can get them to fix it. If they are successful I will present the bill back to this company and see if they will cover the cost. I doubt it, but techy is welcome to respond and let me know if they will pay for someone else to repair it or at least fix the damage that they did to my iPad Pro.
Unfortunately just saw the review reply from this organization and have to tell you it is a bold faced lie and they know it because I brought my iPad in initially a week earlier and they refused to take it in for repair because it was in perfect working order and was properly charging. So they said without the actual problem occurring at the time it's given to them they would not accept it so the reply down below is a lie I would not trust these people at all you're really taking a chance bringing it to these people at this point because if they're willing to lie about my credibility and I am a structural engineer of 30 years and ethics is the top priority for engineers me do not lie and to call me a liar that alone I'm going to file a lawsuit against you for defamation and I will follow through and repair and file a small claims court with you when you lie there are consequences at...
Read moreI decided to go with this company because they seemed very nice and knowledgeable. I had Cracked the screen of my laptop and they gave me the a slightly higher price that other companies were offering. I still decided to go with them because they had very good reviews. I dropped off my laptop and charger (they specifically instructed me that they needed the computer with the charger)and they didn’t give me anything in writing and didn’t want to take my money when I was leaving it. They wouldn’t even take a deposit. They were going to call me the following Monday (I dropped it off on a Saturday.) I never received a call. I called them and they hadn’t looked at it to give me an updated price. (When I dropped it off they explained it could be more money. The reason they didn’t let me pay or leave a deposit)I called and them and I spoke to someone. She sent me an email with the order info. They were still waiting on a decision from me, even though I explained to go ahead and move forward with it when I dropped it off. Anyway, someone called me the day after and I received a text that it was done. I called back and it was just to confirm to move forward with the repair. This was my third time confirming to move forward with the repair. And it was and additional $15 from original price I was told. But apparently that was a mistake. So the correct price was the initial price given. I waited a week and I decide to call to see if anything was done. Turns out the laptop was repaired. I never received a call. So the following day I went to the store. Everything seemed fine until they didn’t have my charger. I literally started crying because of personal reasons that day and they person attending me was so nice. I was never rude to anyone and no one was ever rude to me. They were able to find my laptop and delivered it to me around 8pm. This was an inconvenience for me on top of me cracking the screen.
The repair was completed and it works fine but it was so stressful, every single thing went wrong. I wouldn’t go back to this store or company. They also have a 20% discount.
The reason I was given was that the technician thought the laptop didn’t belong with my computer even though when I got the charger it had a sticker with my name on it. So many misunderstandings.
Anyway, they did do a good job with the repair. I give them that. And they are very nice. Just so...
