China Moon — Restaurant in Deerfield Beach

Was in the area and wanted Chinese food. Saw the China Moon sign and looked up the Reviews before going in. Reviews were very good so I decided to go in and order To Go. Since this was my 1st time here, I was pleased with all the selections on the Menu. Food was very good. Hot & Sour soup had nice size pieces of mushroom and was the best I've eaten. Fried Rice has pieces of onion, which I cannot eat, but the pieces were big enough to pick out and there were not that many. I ordered the Pork with Mixed Vegetables. Lots of nice size pieces of pork and the mixed vegetables were very good. I just wish there were not so many pieces of the white part of the celery (about 12 pieces). Would rather have more carrots, snow peas and zucchini. Did miss not having mushrooms in the mixed vegetables. Pleasant staff that spoke English. Food was prepared quickly. My mother placed an order of chix wings for me and honey garlic chix for her. The lady who took the order mistakenly put her down for honey garlic chix wings instead. When my mom opened it up and saw the mistake she called back. The lady on the other end kept interrupting her as she was speaking and was yelling at her. She then told my mom that it would be 1 1/2 to 2 hours before they could bring her the correct order and rudely suggested that my mom come and get it herself. I then called to talk to the man who usually takes the orders and he did the exact same thing to me. He yelled and blamed my mom. We’ve been ordering from there for over 5 years. I just can’t fathom how a small business owner could treat a customer that way. Not to mention, a loyal customer!!! They have decent food but we will definitely NEVER order from them again!!! I’ve lived in Deerfield for 30 years abd it’s sad that we don’t have a lot of great Chinese food places, so today I thought I would try China Moon since my regular place ABC was closed today. I will say that when it comes to terrible food, China Moon is the worst I called them because I said nobody can possibly eat this food. You’ve got an over abundance of cornstarch on your chow mein. You’ve honey chicken needs a hammer to break open. The crab Rangoon was fair. The eggroll was frozen and it tasted like it was frozen months ago. How do these restaurants get away with it? If somebody had the smarts to open up a really good authentic Chinese food restaurant in the Cove instead of all the Italian restaurants from here to Boca, they would probably do very well.
